Under rather bizarre circumstances, Nodame makes a visit to the home in which Chiaki grew up, meets his family, and even makes dinner for them (onigiri and nabe). Since the passing of Chiaki's grandfather, tensions seem to have risen within the family, nearly to a breaking point. The pair end up staying over night, and when a nightmare wakes Chiaki, he retreats to his grandfather's audio room. Upon waking to the sound of the opera, Nodame finds Chiaki in the study, listening to records. Eager to play, she convinces him to accompany her on the violin while she plays the piano. There are no pieces performed in this episode; however, Chiaki listens to Matthäuspassion by Johann Sebastian Bach in his Grandfather's audio room.

Finally the time comes for the R-S Orchestra's first concert.

Desperate to get the idols together, Haruka asks Ritsuko to reschedule or cancel her current gigs so she can practice for the New Year's concert.

Iori humiliates herself on live television when she forces an interviewer at the Minase estate to focus on her rather than ask about her father and older brothers. The Producer reprimands her actions, but Iori ignores his advice. Yayoi invites Iori and Hibiki to her home to have dinner with her five younger siblings where Iori learns about the life of a 'commoner' and gets to know Yayoi's brother and the eldest boy, Chousuke, who wants to help his sister.

Uzuki, Rin and Mio are the members of New Generations, while Minami and Anastasia make up Love Laika. A mini-concert to promote their respective debut CDs is planned, and the members of both units are preparing with interviews, fitting sessions and the like. Minami and Anastasia are extremely nervous since it’ll be their first time performing on stage, but they do their best to prepare by working together and training a lot. Meanwhile, the members of New Generations can’t wait to have another onstage experience like they did with Mika. The day of their first concert finally comes, but what do the members see when they look out over the stage?
