    Bryan & Lili return for the season 6 premiere of their Star Trek talk show with production artist John Eaves. Eaves began with Greg Jein making models on Star Trek 5:The Final Frontier, with some in-between model work on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Later, after Herman Zimmerman discovered John Eaves did illustrations and drawings at a very high level, he asked him to be on Star Trek: Generations, the 1994 film where Eaves worked with Michael Okuda and others on the Enterprise-B sketch concept design. Eaves also talks about how Zimmerman asked him to come on board to Star Trek Deep Space Nine soon there after. Part 1 of a 2 part interview.

In this conversation, we hear from Star Trek's longest-running staff member and his great stories working on concept art, illustrations, and model making. John talks in depth about working on Star Trek Projects from 1989 through 2022. We hear how he got his start working on Deep Space Nine as a production illustrator and how he incorporated his love of making models into that role. Bryan and Lili ask interesting questions about what it was like working with JJ Abrams, as well as working for Paramount on so many Star Trek TV Series. We find out his influences when designing iconic props like the Phaser weapons in Star Trek: Enterprise. John also gives Bryan and Lili insight into what it was like working in a production role that has had so many technological improvements over the years.
