One place remains in the Tournament of Champions, and tonight 8 hopeful contestants fight to the death for the right to take it. In this single elimination Slugfest only one can survive. The dream: to take part in the tournament against such BattleBots legends as End Game, Tantrum, and World Champion SawBlaze. The prize: The Golden Bolt.

The Slugfest continues… 8 more teams risk it all by fighting to the death in the hope of earning the fourth spot in the upcoming Golden Bolt Tournament. Only one can survive tonight’s mechanical mayhem and join the field of Champions.

A champion is crowned tonight. By the end of tonight’s season finale, a new team will hoist the Giant Nut and be crowned BattleBots World Champion. It’s winner takes all, as the final 8 bots face off in the ultimate robotic fight.

During the first night of the six-episode tournament, 8 teams will converge in an arena of minefield and hazards for the ultimate shot at glory during the Qualifiers round. Each match will consist of a single three– minute bout in which the goal is to completely destroy or disable the opponent. If there is no knockout during the three-minute battle, the panel of judges will declare a victor to move onto the next round. Competitors range from NASA engineers, to teenage students, to everyone in between — each with one goal — to claim the ultimate title and walk away with the grand cash prize.

The remaining teams face off during another Qualifiers round where they will converge in an arena of minefields and hazards for the ultimate shot at glory. In addition to the 8 battles, four wild card teams will be selected to round out the championship round of 16. Each match will consist of a single three-minute bout in which the goal is to completely destroy or disable the opponent. Twelve robots face off in a series of matches to earn the final four spots in the championship.

The first round of next-generation robots go head-to-head as 32 teams (out of 48) converge in an arena full of hazards for the chance to advance out of the qualifying round in pursuit of the championship. Judging the matches are former “BattleBots” competitor and special effects artist Fon Davis, the face of “Nerdist,” Jessica Chobot, and special guest judge Adam Savage (“MythBusters”).
