Government, the press client

President Trump’s scorn for Mexico is translating into a wall and a revision of the commercial treaties that bind the two countries together. Revisiting the trade agreements makes sense, but the insults might injure the bilateral relationship forever.

Mexicans at Trump's shout

In order to avoid possible economic crises and bring down the debt and the deficit, the government is announcing austerity measures. But these are merely symbolic solutions that will not eradicate the underlying problems, and may increase inequality in the long term.

Poor austerity

Politicians: they are what we have

Socialism, the doctrine that laid the foundations for the Latin American left, and ended up becoming the very source of abundance. Learn about the great fortunes amassed by the region’s principal leaders in this doctrine.

$ocialism

18 years of Chavismo in power have led Venezuela into a deep economic and social crisis. The opposition has spent a month in the streets demanding elections and respect for Parliament, while the Government fiercely represses the demonstrators as it pursues its intention to perpetuate its hold on power.

WTF Venezuela

The traditional methodology of the school is obsolete: it does not develop skills to learn or work. There are new methods that do help students achieve it. In Mexico they will be implemented unless politicians oppose unnecessarily.

Less schools! More "heducation"!

TVs, computers, cell phones and other devices constantly renew them, some sell them, others buy them and we all breathe the toxic elements they have. Electronic waste a problem that is not so visible.

Electronic trash

Labor rights defenders or brazen thieves? See how some union leaders have gone from defending and protecting the interests of workers to enrich themselves at their expense, in view of all of us and with "permission" from the government.

Corrupt syndicates

The increase in violence against journalists in Mexico has called into question the Government's commitment to freedom of expression. Chumel sends a message to all journalists who make this program possible with their work.

Latin American advertising is full of whites but their countries are not. These stereotypes produce discrimination; which has serious consequences ranging from the aesthetic to the social.

Bleached Advertising

Soccer fans can’t control their passions, which has given rise to outbursts of violence that, in some cases, have ended in death. Soccer is a sport that unites all of Latin America, though it looks like it might also have the power to drive us apart.

Stadium Violence

Votes or bullets

OE OE OE OE OEAAA!

Do prisons work? In this episode we analyze the problems faced by people subject to criminal proceedings. Also how life for a former prisoner can be as difficult outside as in jail. We will also see art and prison theater.

Prisons or universities?

After a drop in box office sales, the Mexican film industry seems to be having a slight rebound, though sometimes it seems the only choices are “death, kidnapping and calamity,” or “that love story we’ve already seen 20 times.”

How much for my art?

The media has found the best customer not with its subscribers or with the advertising companies, but with one that leaves more profits: The Government.

Big Data
