LING and MAY`s happy marriage is endangered with the intrusion of a competitor. One day, LING attempts to commit suicide and is sent to hospital. LAI gives her treatment. LAI firmly believes that MAY is not loyal to love affairs and is not a responsible man.

MOON`s gay lover abandons him. He is so depressed that SUN and LAI lead him to have a drink to conciliate him. In the bar SUN meets her former lover CHU. She is not happy. Episode 1

MAY is depressed as he is frustrated by his marriage. Though the trial has started, MAY still has the confidence that he can overcome the situation. At last the case is settled outside the court. In a armed robbery, one of the gangsters request a doctor so that his colleague can be cured. YU is instructed to shoulder this task. A woman hostage faints in the bank. TUNG has to show up to give assistance. As the thief has lost too much blood, YU persuades other thieves to surrender in order to save his life. At last, YU`s attempt is successful. MAY and LONG celebrate with CHING for her eighteenth birthday. CHING makes the wish that she can celebrate her next birthday. However there is no suitable marrow to cure her blood cancer. LING packs her luggage and decides to divorce MAY.

Episode 2

CHING accompanies several students to the hospital. They were hurt in a fire. CHING collapses and it is proven that cancer has spread in her body. MOON`s mother tries to bridge MOON and IVY. LAI tells her that MOON is a gay. This does not affect their friendship. KIN is lurked and is hurt seriously. His elder brother visits him but is not welcomed. This reminds YU that his brother was killed as his brother wanted to protect him. He convinces KIN to change his attitude. YU passes the department of pregnancy and sees TUNG there. Their mutual understanding deepens. CHING`s wish can be realized. However the donor changes his mind. LONG begs the doctor to tell her the donor`s information. LING blames MAY that he has terminated the insurance policy. LAI witnesses their quarrel and her misunderstanding of LAI worsens.

Episode 3

Finally LING gets KI`s address. However MAY follows her and she cannot convince him to give his marrow to CHING. MAY and the others go to a bar. YIP thinks that SUN is a prostitute and troubles are made. YU and YIP witness a traffic accident. When the four members were waiting for a tour lorry, a car driven by FUNG knocked them down. LIN`s mother and daughter were hurt seriously. YU tries to save them. YAN, who is a police inspector, is FUNG`s father. He wants to bribe YU and YIP. LAI gives YU a ride but they meet a traffic accident. LAI faints and is sent to hospital. LAI is frustrated as a tumour is found in her brain.

Episode 4

KI is impressed by the card drawn by CHING. He promises to give CHING a helping hand. All are excited. LAI does not want her family and boyfriend, who is imprisoned, to worry. Thus she does not tell them her condition. She plans to quit her job. She changes her mind as she is convinced by CHU and MAY after LAI has saved a girl who had nearly been suffocated by a ball. CHU and MAY meet SUN in the fitness centre. SUN nags at MAY. LING and MARTIN go to MAY’s house to get her belongings. Her rude and inconsiderate behaviour makes MAY know that divorce is unavoidable.

Episode 5

CHING recovers and goes home. YIP has parked his car in the forbidden area. He rushes to stop the policeman but he has no coins. Luckily HA helps him. He is impressed by her generous character. HOI suspects that PIK is not loyal to him and her baby is not his. PIK feels humiliated and commits suicide in the hospital. She also wants to get rid of the baby. YIP rushes to tell HOI that he has misunderstood PIK. At last PIK forgives HOI. MAY at last allows CHU and MOON to move into his house though he is reluctant to accept them. YAN is the PR in the karaoke restaurant. She is arrested by the police. CHU goes to the police station to help her. SUN witnesses the case. CHING is kidnapped and MAY worries. When the police want to arrest the gangsters, there is a gunfight. Two villains are killed and FAI is seriously hurt.

Episode 6

Though FAI is saved, he does not admit having kidnapped CHING. At last he is set free by the police. CHING`s corpse is discovered. MAY and her family are in deep grief. MAY is shocked. CHU and MOON show their concern to him. YU laughs at MA as he suspects that MA admires HA. HA tells YU that he is wrong. TUNG loses her confidence as she is not trusted by an old woman for her dialect as well as her being a student doctor. YU talks with her and releases her stress. FAI has brain cancer and MAY is instructed to do the surgery for him. LONG locks FAI up and trounces him. He is investigated by the police. LONG thinks that MAY is the only one to avenge CHING`s death.

Episode 7

MAY does his job smoothly and the others appreciate his professional obligation. In the pub, SUN and SING appear in front of them. However SUN and SING do not see them. MAN is a singer and when she visits her fans in the hospital, her nose bleeds continuously. A tumour is found in MAN`s brain. MAN refuses to have surgery as a scar will be left on her face. MAY knows that SING suffers from AIDS and he wants to warn SUN. However SUN ignores and scolds him. KAM becomes unconscious after taking CHUEN`s herbal medicine. He wants to sue CHUEN. When FAI is about to leave, he tells MAY that CHING was killed by him without regret. MAY is angry.

Episode 8

MAN has to stay in the hospital and the tumour is growing in size. For her career, she still refuses to have surgery. MING does not contact MAN and this makes her confused. MOON accompanies MAN to visit MING but in vain. LAI`s parents think that MOON is LAI`s boyfriend. MOON does not know what to do. When YIP and YU are to be charged of illegal parking, HA turns up and helps YIP again. YU is aware that YIP is attracted by HA. YAN has a tumour in her reproduction system. The police suspect that CHOW YUK MING is involved in a murdering case. YIP asks YAN to tell him MING`s information. MOON and LAI become good friends and MOON admires LAI.

Episode 9

MOON sends LAI flowers to court her. MAN insists on attending the rehearsal and MOON cannot stop her. A baby girl is drowned at home and she is sent to the intensive care unit. YIP finds that the CHUNGs had had two babies bit both died. YIP suspects that the baby was tortured. LING is pregnant and she begs MAY to conduction abortion for her. MAY refuses to do so. FAI is lurked by a mad man and at last dies. Mrs. CHUNG tries to kill her baby by removing the oxygen tube. Fortunately she is stopped and is arrested by the police. LI was rapped and run over by a car. She is on the brink of death. CHU is frustrated as he knew LI a few days ago. CHU is concern of LI.

Episode 10

LI recovers and she has to attend the court. It is a cruel fact as she has to recall the terrible memory in the trial. MAY and CHU are aware that MOON admires LAI. They suggest MOON to go to MAN`s concert with LAI. In the street LING falls down and feels stomachache. LAI sends her to the hospital. LAI thinks that MAY has urged LING to get rid of the baby intentionally. LAI looks down upon MAY. In the court, CHU admits that he has slept with LI. This does not favor LI. LING`s baby cannot be kept and she cries in front of MARTIN. LAI realizes that she has misunderstood MAY. LAI tells MOON that she has a boyfriend and has to refuse MOON`s love.

Episode 11

MAY apologizes that he has misunderstood SUN`s attitude to love affairs. KONG tells MOON and SUN that their mallow transplant was conducted by him. The driver who rapped LI is imprisoned. YU gets the model plane for JO but it is trashed by TUNG. The social worker tells others that HO is an orphan and he has AIDS. The plane was left by his mother. FUNG has to stay in the hospital. YU takes the record player left by HA`s husband to repair. PING throws away all the records unintentionally. HA cannot help crying as she loses all valuables left by her husband. YU holds a Christmas party with TUNG and HE for HO. At last HO dies peacefully.

Episode 12

MOON witnesses a traffic accident. CHING is locked in the car and bleeds seriously. MOON tries his best to save her. CHING at last is sent to hospital. LAI takes care of MOON. CHU reminds him to grasp the opportunity to court LAI. LAI`s dream comes true as KWONG is set free from the prison. She takes care of him wholeheartedly. PAU is sent to hospital as he suffers from heart attack. TUNG can recall his records. Unfavorable scandals are spread . TUNG admits in front of YU that she was looked after by PAU. YU cannot accept the news and TUNG is frustrated. LAI`s health worsens and the medicine will bring a lot of side-effects. LAI cannot make the decision.

Episode 13

LAI arranges a job for KWONG to work in a garage. However KWONG quits the job. LAI is disappointed. However he still respects KWONG`s decision. TAK`s liver deteriorates and is in a comatose. As Mrs. WONG`s liver is not healthy, she cannot give her liver to TAK. She worries much. YU`s prejudice on TUNG makes TUNG hard to confront him. KWAN has records in miscarriages and as her husband has died, she is nervous of her pregnancy. HA and TONG look after FUNG in the hospital. YU is impressed by HA. BILL is arrested by the police as he is drunken seriously. He is released on bail with SUN`s assistance. Outside a bar, SUN and MAY see BILL again. He has drunk too much wine. MAY recognizes that BILL is Mrs. WONG`s husband. She tells MAY and they go to find BILL together. MAY has changed her attitude towards SUN. In SUN`s house they are impressed by each other and they kiss wholeheartedly.

Episode 14

SUN changes her clothes and go to work. MAY makes consideration on their relationship. BILL`s liver cannot be transplanted to TAK as he has drunk too much wine. MAY and his friends go to launch. MAY takes care of SUN. TAK wants to see his father. Mrs. WONG begs MAY to make TAK`s dream come true. BILL brings a toy car to visit TAK. TAK at last dies. All are sad. KWAN has cancer and surgery can only be conducted after the removal of her baby. KWAN cannot accept the arrangement. MAY buys novels of love stories as SUN likes reading them. He plans to tell her the endings. LAI understands his intention. MOON and CHU break in when MAY is reading the novels. However SUN refuses to accept him.

Episode 15

MAY figures out that SUN has her idea in love and he is willing to accept her. KWAN secretly leaves the hospital. All are worried. YU is aware that HA cannot accept her boyfriend younger than her. He does not know how to change her mind and court her. KWONG wants to run a food stall. LAI decides to raise money for him. KWAN is sent to the hospital. YI persuades her to receive treatment. MAY wants to give LAI the money so that LAI can help KWONG. However LAI`s assistance is refused by KWONG. KWONG suggests LAI to find some others who are better than him. CHU sees YAN`s lighter and recalls YING. He is frustrated. KWONG fries noodles for MIU. LAI realizes what has happened between them and decides to leave.

Episode 16

YAN is arrested as she is a smuggler of soft drugs. She is released on bail with CHU`s assistance. The doctor decides to keep KWAN`s baby by removing it earlier than the expected day of delivery. Then she has the surgery. Luckily both are all right. YU hopes that he can go to the United Kingdom for the medical seminar so that he can enrich his knowledge. PING asks HA information of YU. HA knows her idea. LEUNG complaints that his father is ignored though his father has fever. In fact YU has to look after FAT who needs immediate treatment. HA bridges PING and YU. PING thinks that YU admires her and is excited. YU cannot go to the United Kingdom for his background. He is discontented. LEUNG`s father dies and LEUNG blames LEUNG. YAN is hurt and in a comatose. It seems that she has been raped. CHU feels guilty.

Episode 17

YAN does not want to get into the troubled water, so she refuses to accuse the criminal in court. She even leaves the hospital secretly and take refuge in CHI`s house. To flatter YIP, YAN promises to go to the court. SUN uses YAN`s pager records to accuse the suspect. CHING is involved in a murdering case in Mainland China. He wants to escape. YIP and the others lurk at the jetty. CHING escapes. Thinking that CHING has been hurt, CHI rushes to the hospital. There she meets TUNG, her former classmate. TUNG visits CHI and finds that she has fainted due to infectious disease. From YAN, SUN learns that CHU and YING, who is YAN`s elder sister, were lovers. She understands why CHU brings the lighter with him. The police keep an eye on CHI to get CHING.

Episode 18

CHI suffers from Hanta virus. She dies at last. CHING comes with a hostage so that he can see CHI. YIP arrests CHING. TUNG is separated for treatment as she may be infected by CHI. Both YU and YIP are surprised as they love HA. YU dates HA but HA tells him that she cannot accept him. CHING is also infected and he talks with TUNG before he dies. TUNG loses two good friends and is in deep grief. YU tries to calm her. BRIAN`s wife thinks that her marriage is spoiled by SUN. She slams SUNG in the street. CHU witnesses the incident. CHU and SUN want to change their life styles. CHU even asks SUN whether they have one night stand.

Episode 19

CHU meets his ex-girlfriend LAM. LAM has divorced her husband and has to look after her five-year old son BILLY. MAY and MOON take part in blood donation. They are suspicious as LAI does not give blood. HA refuses to accept YU`s love. She thinks that he is joking. YU is depressed. MAY`s nose bleeds and LAI checks his nose. MAY worries and LAI understands his feeling. She gives him support. LAM asks CHU whether he has dreamt of a woman delivering his baby. CHU finds her words strange and have hidden meanings. LAI suffers from her brain tumour. She cannot stand on her own feet. SUN knows that LAI has kept her illness as a secret. CHU and LAM bring BILLY to the beach, LAM is happy and hopes that CHU can turn back to her. MAY feels released as he only has nasosinusitis.

Episode 20

SUN encourages LAI to disclose her love in front of MAY. She should not be stopped by her brain tumour. HA also gathers sufficient courage to tell KUEN that YU is courting her instead of PING. PING is disappointed. HA is also confused. She asks YIP to convince YU to give up. LOK`s leg is broken and it has not been treated properly. It is also burnt seriously. It must be cut off. LAI is unwilling to see this happen. LAM gives CHU the hint that BILLY is his son. She hopes to reunite with him. She is disappointed as CHU tries to bridge PETER and her. LAI gives MAY two boxes of snacks and claims that she cannot finish them. This improves their relationship. LAM want to clarify whether CHU really wants to be BILLY`s father for her or for responsibility.

Episode 21

LAI buys snacks for MAY. MAY feels interesting as his boxes are always filled with snacks. FOK subsidizes LOK to buy an artificial limb. LOK prefers to use the money for his family. MOON is impressed by LOK`s behaviour. From YIP, MOON learns that CHING is a prostitute. In the blood donation, MOON`s blood is suspected of being infected by AIDS. MOON cannot take it. YUEN has to go to the hospital for physical therapy. LAM tells SUN that BILLY is CHU`s son. However she does not want to force CHU to stay with her for responsibility. Thus she keeps it as a secret. MOON refuses to be transferred to the department of brain surgery. The others worry. MOON dares not to tell the reason. LAM and BILLY go to Canada and terminate the relationship with CHU.

Episode 22

MOON is angry with CHING as he is infected by AIDS for her. LAI sees KWONG in the hospital. KWONG tells LAI that he loves CHING and CHING has unpleasant experience. MOON tells MAY and CHU his problem. They worry much. YU does not give up courting HA and HA is confused. MOON changes his attitude after knowing her background. KIT is hurt in a traffic accident. KI and her daughter rush to see him. They come across their former classmate YI. YI recalls her former romantic days with KIT. YIP always drives HA and YUEN to the hospital. YU thinks that he does not have any chance. YIP tries to bridge them.

Episode 23

PING has misunderstood HA and YU. She wants PING to forgive her. HA tries to bridge them. After CHOI`s death, YAN realizes that YIP is the only one she can rely on. YIP talks with her and calms her down. YAN does housework for YIP and hopes that this can pull them together. KIT has lung cancer. However he cannot get his compensation from the insurance company. He is in financial difficulties. MAY and his friends go launching. LING is also there and this makes LAI unhappy. After checking, it is found that KIT has been cheated. LING is involved. YI and LAI decide to ask SUN to sue the insurance company. LING is angry. CHU discovers that he and SUN were lovers ten years ago. This special feeling bring them together again.

Episode 24

PUI is hurt in a fight with her husband. Though the wound is all right, her pregnancy is improper. She has to receive surgery immediately. LING hopes that KI can give up the accusation. In the argument, MAY calms her down. LAI thinks that they still love each other. PUI`s surgery is a failure and she dies. TUNG thinks that she should be responsible for the accident. She is afraid that her career will be ruined. YIP wants to stay away from YAN and thus he dares not to go home. KIT is compensated outside the court. LING tells MAY that she has a new boyfriend JOHN. MAY worries as LING is so immature in dealing with love affairs. YAN is jealous of YIP who shows much concern to HA. She scolds HA. YIP orders YAN to apologize. CHU dates SUN and suggests that they can further develop their relationship. SUN accepts him…

Episode 25

SUN and CHU`s love blossoms and the others are happy for them. LING discusses with MAY on the matter of JOHN`s decision of emigration. SUN finds that they have a pleasant conversation and she reminds LAI that LAI should discloses her love of MAY. LAI wants to grasp MAY`s hand to show her love but in vain. She changes her mind as she is afraid that her brain tumour will spoil the love. LAI faints and MAY worries. He asks LAI for the reason. LAI`s condition is disclosed and her friends worry. Knowing that KWAN is not a loyal lover, YING tries to kill herself. KWAN blames YING that her foolish act will make him feel guilty forever. MAY does not know what to say as CHU also committed suicide for him. CHU brings his new lover to his home and SUN is depressed.

Episode 26

CHU hopes that his friends will forgive his cruel act to SUN. It is discovered that PUI`s death was not caused by TUNG. TUNG writes a love letter to YU but YU wants him to take it back. TUNG is embarrassed. YAN is suspected to be a murderer and YAN is unhappy as YIP does not trust her. MOON blames KWONG who has not visited CHING for a long time when she is still in the hospital. KWONG gives CHING`s diary to MOON. It states that CHING has been admiring KWONG. CHING cannot face KWONG and wants to leave the hospital though she has not recovered. On the way, she faints. MOON is nervous. He grasps her hand and tells her that he has been her admirer. When CHING wakes up, she is impressed and the seed of love germinates in their hearts. CHU appears in front of SUN as usual. LAI is confused.

Episode 27

SUN has forgiven CHU. TUNG knows that HA has been attracted by YU. She reminds HA that HA should respect love. YAN is involved in a case of drugs smuggling. SUN helps her. Knowing that their love will not bear any fruit, CHING decides to put an end to her life. KWONG and MOON are in deep grief. MAY tells LAI that he regards her as his good friend. He suggests LAI to have treatment as early as possible. LAI quits her job and goes out with her parents. She tells them her situation and they are shocked. LAI leaves MAY a letter and goes away. MAY suspects that LAI will commit suicide.

Episode 28

As YU understands the dilemma that YU and HA have to face, HA feels relieved. She prepares to accept YU. However YU decides to leave so as to reduce HA`s psychological burden. TUNG tries to bridge them and manages to do so. Though YAN ignores YIP, YIP finds that he loves her. YIP tells YAN his feeling. SUN tells MAY where LAI is and tells him that he should not hide his love of her. LAI decides to drive the yacht to the Philippines. MAY rushes to the pier but cannot find her. He is depressed. LAI has to come back as there is a thunderstorm. MAY discloses his love and LAI is touched. They leave together.

Episode 29

SUN finds CHU`s lighter. Without the lighter, YING`s image appears in CHU`s mind. LAI thinks that LING still loves MAY and she has brain tumour. She does not know whether it is correct to accept MAY`s love. MAY loses his wedding ring and he tells LAI that his relationship with LING has come to an end. Suddenly LAI loses her self-control. MAY knows that her condition is very bad. LAI tells him that she treasures every minute with him and she does not want the treatment to shorten the happy time. At last MAY manages to convince her to take the treatment. The surgery will be shouldered by MAY. SUN asks CHU to get the lighter back but he does not turn up. SUN feels strange. CHU has gone out with YAN to meet some drugs smugglers. In chaos CHU is shot and he sees YING.

Episode 30

SUN calls CHU and YAN answers it. She tells SUN why CHU was hurt. LAI and YU are shocked to see CHU being hurt so seriously. MAY removes the bullet from CHU`s brain. SUN worries so much that she cannot go to sleep. She realizes how important CHU is in her mind. The operation is successful. CHU tells SUN that when he is on the brink of death, he recalls YING. SUN is upset. CHUEN tells LAI that he carries the diary as he is afraid of having the brain disease like his father. Unfortunately, KAI gets it first. LAI hopes that she can see the rainbow. She is happy as MAY stays with her before her possible death. MAY feels nervous as his lover`s life is in his hand.

Episode 31

MAY must finish a section of the operation within fifteen minutes but in vain. Though he can removes the abnormal vein, LAI is still in a comatose. MAY loses his self-control. CHUEN and WA blame MAY having pushed LAI to receive the operation. YAN persuades CHU to give up blaming himself for YING`s death. He should accept SUN. CHU buys a new lighter and tells SUN that he will light cigarettes for SUN with it. SUN is touched. LAI wakes up and MAY is excited. However it is only a dream. MAY feels hopeless but he has the courage again as there is a rainbow. He urges LAI to wake up and see it but in vain. He can only tell LAI stories beside her bed.

Episode 32

LAI KWOK CHU, HENRY (LAM, BOWIE) has been the head of A & E at a hospital for two years. He disapproves of YU LONG PING, DOROTHY (CHAN KIE EE, KIT) replacing TONG CHI LAI, JACKIE (CHOI SIU FUN, ADA). CHANG CHI MEI, PAUL (NG KAI WAH, LAWRENCE) has achieved more in Neurology and is more popular among medical students. A beautiful, talented but cold doctor, ANSON MAN (SHIU MEI KI, MAGGIE), has just joined Gynaecology. Her only relative is a sister, SUKI MAN (YUEN CHOI WAN), who is an intern in the same hospital. ANSON is very touched by PAUL and JACKIE’s love story. KONG SUN YUI, ANNIE (CHAN WAI SHAN, FLORA) has put all her efforts into AIDS education since her brother died from it. She and HENRY are settled in their relationship. PAUL, HENRY and ANSON impress TRACY HO (MUNG KA WAI, YOYO) and MC CHAN (CHAN HO), who are from rich families and doctors too, when they work on the victims from a traffic accident.

PAUL has lived a simple life for two years since JACKIE fell ill. JACKIE’s father, TSUEN, is suffering from dementia but he remembers everything about JACKIE. TRACY and MC start working in the hospital and cause gossips.  TRACY’s uncle YI (YU YANG) has a heart attack, but refuses an operation because of work. TRACY ignores his refusal.  A woman is excited when she is informed that she is pregnant with a boy after giving birth to three girls. Unfortunately, ANSON suspects that she has lupus.  KWONG (WONG TAK PUN) is now going out with PEACE (FU CHOR WAI). They own a cafe at a beach. One day, PAUL, HENRY and the others visit them there. During a game, HENRY is rude to PEACE and upsets ANNIE.  PAUL and STEVEN (CHEUNG TUNG JO), the Head Medical Officer, discuss an elderly patient’s case and are annoyed by the relatives’ negligence.

PAUL accidentally finds out about TRACY and MC’s affair. MC upsets her when he tries to cover it up. All the interns feel overloaded with their work. SUKI loses her temper over EDMOND (TONG, MICHAEL) when she complains that he does not care enough about her.  TSUEN’s ex-wife gets married again, but he does not get upset and his open attitude impresses PAUL. ANSON’s patient, WAI, cannot accept that he has dementia at his young age.

TRACY’s father, YAN donates money to the hospital and invites PAUL and HENRY to a dinner party to thank them for saving YI. However, he is tied up with work and does not show up.  ANSON has read about a cure in saving some patients like JACKIE and tells PAUL about it.

SUKI and ANSON finds a boy on the way to work. They suspect that he has been sexually abused. HENRY leaves ANNIE’s beloved dog on the beach and lies to her that the dog has run away.  PAUL and ANSON find that they understand each other. NAN gives birth to a boy with a heart problem and disappears. ANSON is furious with her. Luckily, the boy survives the operation.  A tycoon’s son, SAM, is being sued for raping a young boy. ANNIE represents him in court and wins the case, but SAM’s arrogance is provocative, so she refuses to represent him again when the boy’s parents decide to appeal.  With DOROTHY’s help, ANNIE finds her dog again and this annoys HENRY.

JACKIE’s brain is infected with flu virus. The medical team led by STEVEN has agreed to pronounce her dead, but PAUL refuses. Despite ANNIE and ANSON’s persuasion, he decides to perform surgery on JACKIE with HENRY’s help. Their action upsets STEVEN.  Some patients take the risk to undergo kidney transplant in mainland China. HENRY compares DOROTHY with JACKIE all the time, but she has no choice.  TSUEN’s dementia gets more serious, but luckily he only amuses people. EDMOND is a materialistic person and has a conflict with SUKI. PAUL objects to TRACY performing a liver transplant on a patient. She thinks that he is prejudiced against her. He is furious about her accusation and refuses to have further discussion with her.

JACKIE regains consciousness after staying in a coma for two years. HENRY and ANNIE bring her all the presents from people that they have kept for her, and she is moved.  A seriously injured old lady is sent into the hospital. ANSON suspects that she has been abused. A & E receives two sister victims from a traffic accident. The elder one sacrifices herself to save her sister.  MC encourages a man to hold on until his heart transplant surgery. Finally, the operation is successful. His son decides to take MC as his idol and wants to be a doctor in future.  JACKIE realizes that PAUL has given up too much for her, so she tells him to put his patients in the first place. When JACKIE and TSUEN meet again, they are both stunned.

JACKIE and PAUL treasure every minute they spend together. ANSON starts to know JACKIE and they become good friends.  An underage girl abandons her child shortly after giving birth. CHRIS and ANSON call the police and they have her arrested. The girl’s parents are very mad at CHRIS because he knows them well.  JACKIE knows that PEACE is KWONG’s girlfriend from her behaviour and they become good friends. CHRIS is still bothered by the girl’s case which makes DOROTHY think that he is still a child.  ANNIE realises that she loves HENRY deeply, but he is insensitive sometimes. So she and JACKIE talk all night about their love life.  STEVEN sees a tattoo on GLORIA (CHAN KEE) and finds out that she has a sad history. JACKIE’s optimistic personality cheers up everybody in the hospital.

JACKIE sees TSUEN enjoying himself in his dance school and feels relief. DOROTHY is stressed by HENRY’s aggression towards her. JACKIE explains to her that he is very serious about work.  JACKIE wants to take a ride on her motorbike. Although PAUL is tired from work, he still goes with her. She has made dental appointment for TSUEN but he forgets about it. While she is waiting in the clinic, a fire breaks out and, fatally, she stays there to save the others. When she is sent into the hospital, it is already too late. Unfortunately, PAUL is still in a meeting and is not informed about JACKIE’s death.

PAUL cannot accept JACKIE’s sudden death. He decides to leave to study in England. STEVEN suggests HENRY should write a medical column in a newspaper. He takes it as a challenge.  ANNIE values her time with HENRY more after JACKIE’s death, so she decides to buy a flat and live with him. Coincidently, they see a flat which is owned by MC, so HENRY makes many bad comments about the flat but MC accepts them quietly.  A mentally ill female patient, COCO, fancies HENRY. She always calls for the ambulance in order to see him. CHRIS knows something about Chinese medicine, so he sometimes gives colleagues and patients advice from the Chinese medical angle and this annoys SUKI.  GLORIA is cheerful, so she gets on with everyone. One day, HENRY has left something in the car, when he gets to the car park, he is attacked by COCO.

HENRY is attacked. Luckily, DOROTHY saves him. After this incident, ANNIE loves him more. One day, some gangsters are sent into the hospital after a fight. One of them is GLORIA’s brother. She hates him and avoids meeting him, but he finds her eventually and asks her for money. She is very depressed but has nobody to talk to.  HENRY slowly recovers from his injury. He changes his feelings about DOROTHY after she saved him. GLORIA’s brother is sent into A & E again and some drugs are found on him. GLORIA takes the drugs away.

STEVEN knows that GLORIA took some drugs away from her brother, but he does not report her. He likes FONG (LO KOON LAN). One day when they meet each other after work, he cancels his appointment and goes up to FONG’s home for dinner. However, she thinks that he is seeing someone else and keeps her distance from him. In fact, he is only living with his mother. Although his mother hassles him to build his own family, he ignores her.

GLORIA is depressed and has a few drinks in a pub. KWONG tries to stop her but she tries to get him to drink with her. When KWONG refuses, she finds some strangers. Although some of GLORIA’s colleagues know that she is unhappy, they cannot help her much. She is robbed and loses her ID, so the police have to detain her. She tries to call some friends to prove her identity, but fails, so finally, she finds STEVEN and he takes the chance to talk to her.

GLORIA takes STEVEN’s advice and starts to like him. Meanwhile, FONG treats him very well too. HENRY realizes that he takes ANNIE for granted, so he decides to pay more attention to her.

ANSON is sent to London for a conference. As Paul needs some information from Hong Kong, STEVEN asks her to bring it to him. SUKI thinks that she should appreciate the chance to develop further with PAUL, but ANSON only wants things to go naturally.  One day when DOROTHY accepts a ride from HENRY, her friend who is mentally disturbed calls her up. She does not want HENRY’s sarcasm, so she cuts the call. Finally, her friend kills himself and makes her feel guilty. Luckily, ANNIE talks her over and they become good friends. HENRY and DOROTHY work together all the time and start to like each other.

HENRY knows that there is something going on between him and DOROTHY. To keep his relationship with ANNIE, he hangs around her all the time. It leads to ANNIE’s suspicion.  CHRIS takes a great interest in Chinese medicine, so he goes to a herb shop often. He meets ANSON there one day and has a nice chat with her. The shop owner is poisoned one day and is saved by CHRIS’s information.  On the way back to Hong Kong, PAUL and ANSON are on the plane with a pregnant woman who is having contractions and needs emergency procedures. Fortunately, they manage to help her deliver the baby.  TSUEN thinks that TRACY is JACKIE, but she does not correct him. MC knows that TRACY worships her father, so he pursues her hard. STEVEN does not feel good getting in between GLORIA and FONG.  PAUL bumps into his puppy love WINNIE (TANG SHUI MAN) in a supermarket.

PAUL and WINNIE catch up in a restaurant and he finds out that she is married and has two children, but her life is tough and she misses the time with him. HENRY tries to persuade PAUL to date ANSON, but he does not want a girlfriend.  FONG is sent into the hospital because of food poisoning. She is touched by STEVEN’s care. One of SUKI’s patients, WING, whose parents are divorced, has leukaemia. His mother begs to have another child with his father in order to save him, but she gets turned down. SUKI feels sorry for the boy.

WINNIE’s son is hurt in school, so she takes him to a hospital. She finds out that PAUL works in that hospital and looks for him, but she cannot find him. On the way home she is involved in a traffic accident, the doctors give her an X-ray test and find out that she has bone cancer. This news shocks PAUL.

PAUL knows that WINNIE refuses to take any treatment for her cancer, so he contacts her and tries to persuade her. However, WINNIE tells him that her husband is in debt and hiding in China, so she cannot be hospitalised. In order to get her consent to proceed with the operation, PAUL seeks help from ANNIE and TRACY’s brother, WUN, who is familiar with laws on the mainland.  SUKI tries to pull PAUL and ANSON together. When she finds out that PAUL has joined a course in Chinese medicine, she enrols ANSON as well. Unfortunately, she does not see PAUL on the first lesson because he is absent.  STEVEN’s student KIN encourages him to date FONG, but STEVEN has not made up his mind yet.  Under WUN and ANNIE’s help, WINNIE’s husband’s legal problem is solved. Meanwhile, WINNIE’s situation worsens. ANSON reckons that she has to give up her legs and she accepts the reality, but she insists that PAUL performs the surgery.

PAUL does many things for WINNIE in order to give her confidence in the surgery. ANNIE is very moved by his act and fights hard on WINNIE’s husband’s case. TRACY senses distance between her and MC, so she sees him less.  PAUL is tied up by work and still absent from class. CHRIS says something bad about PAUL during the class and gets scolded by ANSON.

STEVEN and FONG both like each other, but they do not develop further because STEVEN is unsure about their future.  WINNIE’s surgery is successful and her husband wins his lawsuit. Unfortunately, the doctors find some cancer cells in her heart. When she is dying, she accepts the fact calmly.

STEVEN’s mother, YING, crashes into TSUEN while she is driving and they are both sent into the hospital. Luckily they are not seriously hurt but have to stay for monitoring. YING is a snooty person and very difficult to serve. Meanwhile, TSUEN cheers up the whole hospital.

HENRY and DOROTHY both notice they have special feelings about each other. She decides to see CHRIS to avoid HENRY. ANSON and PAUL spend a nice night together. ANNIE advises him to date ANSON more.  STEVEN and FONG both know that YING likes orchids and they get her some coincidently. When FONG finds out that he has already got YING some orchids, she gives them all to her colleagues.  CHRIS realizes that DOROTHY does not really love him and splits up with her. After that, she tells HENRY her true feelings.

Both HENRY and DOROTHY hide their feeling about each other. CHRIS also tells HENRY that DOROTHY loves someone else. GLORIA is threatened by her brother. She wants to talk to STEVEN but there is no chance. Meanwhile, STEVEN is finding a chance to date FONG.  WAH’s son KAI is waiting for a suitable kidney for transplantation. When one turns up, he gets sick from helping TIN’s daughter in the rain. WAH blames TIN.  An intern TING’s sister LING needs care. TRACY does not realize her situation and gives her a lot of work. When she fails to do it all, she scolds her. Later, LING tries to commit suicide and is sent into the hospital. TRACY realizes that she has been mean to TING. Fortunately, PAUL helps her to regain confidence.

MC tries hard to please TRACY but fails. An actress’s new born daughter dies suddenly. ANSON suspects the cause of death and decides to report to the police.  A famous neurologist, Prof.YING, visits the hospital. STEVEN is very nervous about his visit because he was his student before and he thinks that he was prejudiced against him. Coincidently Prof.YING backs out during his visit and he needs heart surgery immediately. He insists to have STEVEN as his surgeon. The surgery goes smoothly. When Prof. YING wakes up, he explains that he was angry with STEVEN ignoring his study for a girl. After that, they are friends again.  STEVEN decides to tell FONG his feelings. He invites her to his home for dinner and introduces her to YING.

ANNIE’s home air-conditioner breaks down, so she has to leave her dog in a pet shop. DOROTHY feels very guilty when she finds out that a shopkeeper died because of her carelessness. HENRY explains to her that it is not her fault.  ANNIE loses a lawsuit and is feeling down when DOROTHY calls up, so they start sharing their difficulties and get closer to each other.

STEVEN and FONG settle down with their relationship and get YING’s approval. SUKI feels that family is very important after seeing one of the patients’ parents get back together because their son has cancer.  HENRY is very bothered because of his feelings for DOROTHY. Coincidently he meets her at ANNIE’s home because she is fixing her air-conditioner. When she sees the new report about the shopkeeper’s death, she becomes emotional. HENRY tries to calm her down but they end up having physical contact.

PAUL worries about ANNIE when he knows about HENRY and DOROTHY’s relationship. He asks HENRY to handle the situation carefully but he does not listen to him.  On the way to work, CHRIS is knocked down by a drunk pregnant driver, APPLE. She needs immediate surgery in order to save the baby. APPLE’s lover LOK is asked to sign a consent for her. Apparently LOK was ANSON’s ex-boyfriend whom she believes will come back for her. When LOK finds out that APPLE is pregnant with another man’s baby, he wants to get back with ANSON. She is very confused and has a long chat with CHRIS.  A lawyer KWAN (KU KEI WAN, PRISCILLA) is asked to prepare a will for a tycoon in the hospital. Her talent impresses PAUL and TRACY.

ANNIE’s dog is missing from the pet shop. Although she searches everywhere, there is no sign of it. HENRY tries to comfort her but she somehow is very calm and worries him.

After a one-night-stand with DOROTHY, HENRY is guilty towards ANNIE, so he spends more time hanging around her and arouses her suspicion.  MC is interviewed by a renowned magazine and is praised by all colleagues. He tries to hide his arrogance but not from himself.  CHRIS has a crush on ANSON and tries hard to please her. In order to prove her relationship with YING, FONG arranges some social activities for her, but she finds them boring. On the way home, she bumps into TSUEN and almost hurts a child accidentally. Luckily, TSUEN saves the child and becomes a hero.  HENRY’s medical column in a newspaper is popular among the readers, so a TV programme arranges an interview for him. Coincidently, KWAN watches the programme and remembers him.  One day, PAUL sees an injured old lady with her grandson on the street. He insists on taking her for a check up in the hospital and finds out that the little boy is MC’s illegitimate son.… ...

On PEACE’s birthday, everyone gathers at KWONG’s shop. However, it is not a successful party as everyone has their own problems.  MC brings his new girl to the hospital to embarrass TRACY. However, this only makes all the colleagues impressed with TRACY’s generosity. EDMOND has a neuro-degeneration problem. One of his legs is shorter than the other. Although SUKI tries everyway, including CHRIS’s Chinese medicine prescription, to help him, he still feels bad and releases his temper on her.  TRACY finally splits up with MC. He is sarcastic and says that he only goes out with her because she is a tycoon’s daughter. He destroys her pride and she hides at home for days. Although PAUL worries about her, he dares not to find her. Eventually, YAN gets him to talk to her.

TRACY’s pride is hurt by MC’s comment. YAN tries to call him to settle the argument, but he takes a holiday in Paris. After talking to PAUL, TRACY decides to work in the hospital again. However, her lack of concentration causes several mistakes at work. STEVEN hopes that PAUL and ANSON can brighten her up again.

EDMOND’s boss transfers him to a desk position after knowing his situation. He then becomes very depressed. SUKI can only support him spiritually.

The hospital decides to set up more TV interviews for HENRY. He suggests to include a female doctor. STEVEN accepts his proposal and tries to find a suitable candidate.

TRACY pulls herself up again after PAUL’s scolding. This makes YAN feel relief.

After breaking through her mental block, TRACY becomes more mature and welcomed by other colleagues. PAUL feels proud of her.  KWAN takes up a new position in ANNIE’s law firm. She envies ANNIE because their boss, DONALD, treats ANNIE specially.  HENRY and ANNIE have a traffic accident while HENRY is driving. Luckily, they are not seriously hurt.  STEVEN is meant to pick up FONG on the way to work, but he leaves early alone and makes FONG feel neglected. TSUEN and YING have a lot in common, so they have a good time together.

CHRIS has a crush on ANSON, SUKI encourages him not to give up although ANSON often avoids him.

While TRACY and PAUL are having a chat, a cleaning lady and her son walk by. PAUL notices something strange about the boy’s eyes, so he asks him if he had an accident with his eyes lately. TRACY admires him even more for his sensitivity.

ANNIE asks HENRY to reveal his true feelings for her. FONG is upset with STEVEN’s negligence. ANSON turns down CHRIS. TSUEN sees everybody’s love problem and thinks that they are bothering themselves.  EDMOND decides to be an assistant lawyer. During the interview, some guys come to demand blackmail. He stands up to solve the problem and impresses KWAN.

ANNIE finally interrogates HENRY over his relationship with DOROTHY. He wants to lie at first, but he can only confess when she shows him his watch which she picked up at DOROTHY’s place. He asks her for another chance. However, she tells him that she had a one-night-stand with PAUL years back and she still misses him, therefore, she decides to leave Hong Kong and this hurts HENRY.

TSUEN has serious flu. He feels like he is dying, so he calls up his ex-wife but she ignores him.  A pharmacy owner, TSANG, is sent into the hospital because of drug addiction. His son insists to clean him up but his wife thinks that he will not survive the process. No decision is made.

STEVEN’s half-brother JAMES is in Hong Kong to handle their father’s legacy. YING has no idea about JAMES’s existence. Coincidently, JAMES has a little accident and is staying in the hospital. FONG somehow exposes JAMES’s identity to YING and she turns furious after knowing about her husband’s secret child. Luckily, TSUEN talks to her and cheers her up. She bumps into JAMES at the law firm. All unhappiness is gone when she says ‘hi’ to him.  TSANG’s son finally realizes his father’s needs. His understanding makes MC feel guilty towards his son.  ANSON avoids CHRIS and makes him helpless.… ...

MC is dating another tycoon’s daughter, CHEE. She asks him to quit medicine for business but he refuses.  One day a teenager is sent into the hospital because of a stroke from playing TV games. His family is very worried. KAI finally has a chance for kidney transplant and the news pleases WAH.  A middle-aged woman is depressed from losing her baby during labour. Meanwhile, Mrs. CHEUNG has given birth to triplets, so the woman steals one of them. ANSON feels bad and responsible for the abduction. Luckily, CHRIS helps her out.  An insurance saleswoman, PAULINE, plays a trick on EDMOND and spreads fake rumours about him. He is bothered by the incident and forgets to pay at a supermarket and gets accused of shoplifting. Luckily, TRACY bails him out. PAUL suggests all medical officers sign out a letter to prove EDMOND’s good personality.  The missing child is found, but CHRIS is also hurt.… ...

HENRY gets more and more popular by answering audience’s questions during a TV show. DOROTHY, TRACY, PAUL and HENRY coincidentally meet at a pub. When they are leaving, PAUL proposes to send DOROTHY home to avoid an embarrassing situation. However, his kindness makes TRACY think that he is avoiding her.  KWAN represents a patient in suing the hospital. HENRY denies their charges and makes her very angry. Losing her control, she reveals that they were married in the US four years ago, but he ran away to avoid responsibilities.  EDMOND starts to worship KWAN. HENRY calls up his mother, NAN, trying to find out things about KWAN, but fails. Actually, NAN returns back to Hong Kong. She is a cheerful woman and is welcomed by the neighbours. HENRY only finds out that she is back when he sees her at his home.

SUKI notices that EDMOND treats KWAN better than her and decides to break up with him.

SUKI does not want ANSON to know about her argument with EDMOND, so she spends a night at DOROTHY’s place. When they are chatting, she finds out DOROTHY’s feelings for HENRY.

HENRY is bothered by NAN’s return. PAUL, however, praises and delights her. PEACE is going out with a Malaysian businessman. His wife finds out about it and messes up the whole hospital. STEVEN orders PEACE to take a long vacation to fix things up.

STEVEN assumes that TIN is after FONG, but she tells him that TIN is actually after WAH.  A young girl, MEI, needs a liver transplantation. However, both her parents have hepatitis. Her sister, WAN, is willing to be a donor. TRACY refuses WAN’s proposal and she scolds TING badly when she makes some suggestions. After TRACY and WAN have a long talk, she finally accepts WAN’s suggestion.  HENRY finds no sign of ANNIE and becomes depressed.… ...

PAUL has no idea why HENRY is sarcastic towards him. TRACY keeps a voice message from PAUL and listens to it sometimes. Her uncle makes fun of her silly act.  EDMOND works hard to gather evidence for KWAN’s case. PEACE quits her job for her affair. GLORIA thinks that she is unfaithful to KWONG.  JESSICA is infertile and decides to try test-tube fertilization. Her husband, DONALD objects to the idea. Luckily, KWAN calms them down.

CHRIS’s mother has crystals inside her ovaries and needs emergency surgery. CHRIS feels life is insecure.  PAUL has a fight with HENRY. After that, he goes to KWONG’s cafe to remember JACKIE.  EDMOND studies a case at KWAN’s place. He tells her his feeling for her, but she scolds him in return. SUKI assumes that EDMOND is having an affair with KWAN.

HENRY quits his job. PAUL tries to talk him out of it but ends up in an argument with him.

PAUL is bothered by the tension with HENRY. TRACY tries to comfort him. SUKI’s leukaemia patient WING’s mother has given birth to another boy, so he can have a bone marrow transplant.  CHRIS dates ANSON again. SUKI is bothered by EDMOND’s changes. A gang leader is seriously injured in a fight and sent into the hospital. His man, GOR, threatens to kill PAUL if he fails to save him. Finally, the patient dies and TRACY worries about the threat. Meanwhile, GOR has escaped from prison. TRACY waits in the rain outside PAUL’s home when she fails to find him. He is very touched and accepts her.  NAN wants to see HENRY more because she is dying. She meets KWAN to catch up but falls ill. In the hospital, HENRY finds out that she has last stage lung cancer.

HENRY cannot accept the fact that NAN has cancer. Meanwhile, NAN does not seem bothered by her condition. KWAN scolds him for only being concerned with his own feelings. She makes him realize that he should cherish the time left with NAN. In order to cheer NAN up, STEVEN calls for a gathering with TSUEN, YIN, FONG and NAN. FONG does not know NAN’s condition and assumes that STEVEN is after her. She feels shame after his explanation.  PAUL is slowly accepted by TRACY’s family. In a dinner party, YI has heart attack and dies. TRACY is heartbroken.

GOR follows PAUL for revenge. PAUL has no idea about it and attends a party.

Episode 33

A dying boy is sent into the hospital. Eventually, HENRY saves him. STEVEN tries to persuade him to stay but he refuses.  PAUL is feeling down. Although TRACY has just lost her uncle, she still tries to comfort him. EDMOND misses SUKI, so he decides to get back to her. GOR still follows PAUL and finds a chance to attack him.  DOROTHY receives a warm welcome from SUKI after her holiday. They both decide to shed off their blues. EDMOND is injured and hospitalised. SUKI finds flowers from him on her desk.  GOR attacks PAUL at the hospital. Fortunately, HENRY saves him but SUKI is hurt. Apparently, GOR thinks that she is PAUL’s girlfriend.

Episode 34

SUKI’s life is slipping. HENRY puts all the hospital regulations aside to rescue her. GOR is also seriously hurt. Although everyone hates him, ANSON keeps her professional duty and tries to save him. At last, SUKI dies. PAUL blames himself for her death. TRACY tries to talk him out.  STEVEN tries again to keep HENRY, but he is determined to leave. He cherishes every moment with NAN. KWAN spends a lot of time with her and makes HENRY realize that she takes good care of her back in the US. Eventually, NAN dies with HENRY beside her.  ANSON, HENRY, DOROTHY and EDMOND lose their beloved at the same time and fill their working environment with a sad atmosphere.

Episode 35

HENRY insists on quitting his job even though STEVEN tries hard to keep him. Luckily, another doctor, YU agrees to take his position. When he arrives at Hong Kong, PAUL takes him for dinner. He does not know of the quarrel between PAUL and HENRY and keeps talking about the past time together.  MC is going to marry CHEE and quits medicine for business. STEVEN agrees with his move and surprises him. EDMOND is reminded of SUKI’s merits after her death and misses her badly.  STEVEN takes FONG to a bowling game. His talents impresses her. He grabs the chance to propose to her and she says ‘Yes’.  KWAN finally understands her feelings over HENRY. She decides to leave all the troubles and go back to the States. EDMOND takes her advice and refreshes up.

One day when everyone gathers at KWONG’s cafe, TRACY suddenly feels ill.

Episode 36

TRACY has inherited her mother’s epilepsy and is scared. She fears to talk her family and PAUL, so she leaves quietly. PAUL worries about TRACY and tries to call her many times, but she does not return his calls.  One of YU’s patients loses one leg because he does not believe what YU tells him. Luckily, he saves another patient’s life with what he learns from MSF.  KWONG tries to date GLORIA. She worries that he still misses PEACE, so he promises her that it is not the case. PEACE also blesses them.  MC notices DOROTHY drive TRACY’s car out and follows her to find TRACY.

Episode 37

PAUL finds TRACY eventually. When he is about to ask her why she disappeared, her epilepsy strikes again. Everybody worries for her. Meanwhile, she finds that PAUL does not care for her enough and decides to leave for the States to seek medical treatment.

HENRY feels sorry for DOROTHY’s pregnancy, so he takes her out for dinner and takes real good care of her. His attitude delays her telling him the truth.  EDMOND accompanies ANSON to visit SUKI’s grave. He creates a chance for CHRIS and ANSON. However, ANSON feels that CHRIS’s enthusiasm towards her has died lately.  WING recovers and is leaving the hospital. He asks about TRACY and wants to meet all the medical officers before he leaves. On the scheduled day, PAUL cannot make it because of work. TRACY thinks that he despises her.

Episode 38

TRACY’s condition breaks everybody’s heart, but it stimulates WUN to take care of the family and its business.  HENRY becomes a full-time TV man after leaving the hospital. However, he does not feel at home there and realizes the importance of good friends. DOROTHY realizes that HENRY still misses ANNIE, so she tells him the truth about her baby. They finally become normal friends again.  CHRIS is hurt when he tries to settle a couple’s argument. By then, ANSON finds herself really caring about him and accepts him.

STEVEN appreciates FONG’s optimism and feels good with her. PAUL is disappointed with TRACY’s misunderstanding and determination to leave for the States.

Episode 39

TRACY ignores everybody’s persuasion and decides to leave Hong Kong. MC sends her off at the airport, but PAUL is tied up with work. She is even more disappointed with him.  ANSON is anxious about how people look at her and CHRIS. Fortunately, he is not bothered and this makes her feel more comfortable.  YU meets his father, who abandoned him and his mother before, at a street and is sad seeing him being homeless.  DOROTHY appreciates HENRY’s care, so she calls ANNIE up for him. He finds he does not fit being a TV man, therefore, he comes back to the hospital to share the work in A & E with YU.  After TRACY leaves, she finds that PAUL is too important for her, so she comes to tell PAUL her true feelings.  HENRY cannot forget ANNIE. However, he does not know where she is…

Episode 40

The staff at Yan Oi Hospital take a different view on lives as well as personal values after the SARS outbreak. CHING CHI MEI PAUL is performing a brain operation on a patient who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease. As the operation is conducted when the patient is conscious, TSANG SUK KEI BETSY, an O & G (Obstetrics & Gynecology) intern, is present so as to learn from PAUL. Her superior, MAN ON SAN ANSON, is unhappy for her absence from her post without official. BETSY fails to keep a watchful eye on a girl, who is suspected to have been ill-treated, as told by HENRY. As a result, she is given a good telling-off. MC has lost many patients because of the lawsuit. MC mistakes that YEUNG has stolen PHOEBE’s computer and sold it. He apologizes to YEUNG when he learns about the truth. After carrying out a post-mortem, FRANCES comes to the conclusion that the statement given by the suspect of the family tragedy is not trustful. The suspect loses his control as soon as he hears this. He stops PAUL and others from rescuing his daughter and gets hold of GRACE. CHRIS is nearly killed when he is fighting with the man. Unfortunately, the girl dies. PAUL flies in to a rage and hits the man.… ...

A woman, whose name is AH LING, takes her son to the A & E room. HENRY later knows that her husband is none other than HO TAK KWONG, an old friend of his. KWONG shows his concern for PAUL. As a token of gratitude, GRACE invites CHRIS, who has saved her life, to a dinner. To her disappointment, CHRIS brings ANSON along. He asks GRACE, whose family runs a furniture shop, for discounts. In order to pry into their lives, she grasps the opportunity to visit their place. ANSON sees through her intention. Fearing that his performance will be affected, MC refuses to undergo an operation. His relationships with YEUNG and PHOEBE respectively have been affected inversely as he tries to cover up his pain. The hospital has received complaints against PAUL. TY talks to PAUL about this and accepts his explanation. He also accepts PAUL’s request for taking a long leave. PAUL has been suffering from insomnia recently.… ...

DEREK feels that other people do not show respect to his professional opinion. He vents his anger on PAUL. PAUL has to stay for more observation and treatment. He lists out all his symptoms and gives it to ANGUS with his brain scan result for research. PAUL goes for physiotherapy. It happens that DEREK is the therapist in charge and PAUL finds his attitude towards him strange. Confident that her being younger than ANSON is an advantage, GRACE decides to take away CHRIS from ANSON. HENRY has hurt his backbone. CHRIS tells his elder sister, CHUNG LAM, to give him a massage. Nevertheless, she hurts his neck bone. It further annoys him that SARAH and others have mistaken that he has visited some immoral places. EDMOND has been rather stressed out handling MC’s lawsuit. BETSY thanks HENRY for teaching her and for his patience as well. HENRY notices the scars her wrist. CHRIS asks ANSON out but she cannot make it. Hearing their conversation, GRACE makes up an excuse and asks CHRIS to send her home. She also takes photos of CHRIS being with her in the same car. ANSON has discovered the photos. CHRIS tries hard to explain. As a result, he is given a verbal warning by ANSON for covering this up. MC tells EDMOND off for failing to persuade a patient of his to testify in court. MC, who is troubled by his business downfall, acts rather rudely towards his mother. YEUNG complains that MC does not care about grandmother. HENRY witnesses a patient of his, who has made several suicidal attempts in the past, jumps down from the top floor of the hospital. The patient dies eventually. HENRY is really upset about this, yet BETSY shows no sympathy at all. HENRY wonders why she would have such response.… ...

FRANCES finds on a dead body some ointment which does not belong to the deceased. CHIU, the suspect, does not have any record of skin disease either. A man named KAM HO MAN is rushed to the A & E. BETSY suspects that the man is abusing pubic resources. On seeing this, HENRY leads BETSY into telling him her story about the scar on her wrist. He further tells her that she should know better now about the duty of a doctor. MAN yells and demands to leave, yet he changes his mind as soon as he sees BETSY. CHRIS tries to avoid GRACE but only makes the matter worse. What is more, he has upset ANSON for covering things up. MAN goes to see BETSY. As a matter of fact, they know each other already. MAN sneaks out of the hospital. Exhausted, ANGUS collapses. DEREK hits PAUL, insisting that he is the one to be responsible for ANGUS’ blacking out. PAUL tells HENRY why DEREK is hostile to him. He also invites HENRY to visit Europe with him.… ...

MC goes back to Yan Oi Hospital to work. A patient, Grandma HUNG, wants to go home so that she can take care of her old companion, Uncle LUK, who suffers from senile dementia. She demands to be discharged. MC therefore contacts the social worker attached to the hospital. CHRIS listens to the advice of his female colleagues and proposes to ANSON, only to be told that he is not mature enough to get married yet. PHOEBE says that it is selfish for MC to give up his clinic. He retorts with her scandals. LUK has gone missing. HUNG looks everywhere for him. This has enlightened CHRIS and ANSON and they decide to marry each other. MC cannot stand PHOEBE’s scandals anymore and decides to split with her. MC’s mother visits him, who sends her home with the excuse that he is busy. MC fails to attend the appointment with his mother because he is handling some financial matters with PHOEBE.… ...

PAUL is on the roof when he receives a call from FRANCES. He gives up his thought of taking his life. PAUL has left his cell phone on the roof. FRANCES deduces that HENRY was trying to do something foolish when she called. She is even more worried when she sees that PAUL has become bad-tempered. YEUNG shows allergic reaction. As he refuses to speak, MC tells him to list out things that may cause the allergy. BETSY is queried whether she has check her patient’s medical history before she treated him. HENRY vouches for her innocence, yet she still receives a warning. LING is sent to a lunatic asylum pending a sentence. KWONG does not blame her for harming their son, as he knows that she was under the effect of her illness. FRANCES notices that PAUL is emotionally unstable. With her own experience, she advises him to seek medical treatment. He, however, does not appreciate her concern. PAUL has gone missing.… ...

PAUL takes a long leave so that he can go for psychological counseling and cognitive behavior therapy. By using the poker game that he has learnt, he tells FRANCES not to blame herself for disclosing YIN’s life before she died. ANSON suspects that Mrs. HUNG suffers from prenatal depression. An idea occurs to her when she knows that Mrs. Hung is a loyal reader of HENRY, who has a column on a paper. MC expresses to TY his difficulty in communicating with YEUNG. While TY gives him a few words of consolation, he himself has also learnt something. TY mistakes that HENRY is going out with BETSY. HENRY tells BETSY to explain to TY. She thanks him for bringing a breakthrough to the frozen father-and-daughter relationship. An old classmate of Doctor LIU MEI KUEN KAREN’s is blackmailed by her patient, who is a drug addict. Seeing that TY has a very good impression on HENRY, BETSY dresses up to attend an appointment with HENRY. They are having a good chat when he sees MAN. BETSY pulls a long face when HENRY wants to go after MAN. HENRY does not have a clue why her attitude has changed so suddenly. HENRY tells PAUL about this, only to be laughed at. PAUL screws up his courage to attend a meeting with TY regarding the complaints. AMY, a social worker attached to the hospital, is under huge pressure because of PAUL’s complaints. BRYAN blames PAUL for this. GRACE is embarrassed that a good friend of hers, SO ON SIN SUSANNA, collects name cards from single doctors on behalf of her. BOSCO, ANSON’s ex-boyfriend who has just been divorced, asks ANSON out. He kisses her goodbye after the appointment, the situation of which is witnessed by GRACE. KWONG witnesses a motorcycle accident and goes up to help. PAUL, who is still on leave, is called back to hospital for an operation. Still lacks confidence in himself, he asks ANGUS to perform the operation. The driver of the motor is guilty about his girlfriend’s injury. KWONG gives him a few words of consolations with his own experience. ANSON tries to investigate the medical history of VIVIAN but fails. GRACE comes to know that BOSCO is dating ANSON. She tells CHRIS in no time; CHRIS feels uneasy about this. BOSCO wants to start over with ANSON, who gives him a severe lesson instead. Without his asking it, ANSON tells CHRIS about BOSCO and wins his trust. YEUNG misses his grandma. He gives MC the cold shoulder. PHOEBE comes to the hospital to invite PAUL for an interview. Because of her, PAUL is reprimanded by his Public Relation colleague. PAUL apologizes to TY.… ...

MC finds it odd to find some grains of sand in YEUNG’s shoes, but he is so busy that he cannot look into it. PAUL decides to perform an operation on PHOEBE’s good friend. PHOEBE, however, declines his kindness, with the reason that he has mental illness. The conversation is overheard by MC, who gives PHOEBE a lesson. JAN, a friend of HENRY’s, is sent to hospital because of a burnt. Thinking that her boyfriend has neglected her, JAN cries on HENRY’s shoulder. SARAH, who sees this, mistakes that the two have gone back to each other. CHEUNG KA KIT is sent to hospital for cough syrup overdose. The doctor believes that someone has forced him to take the syrup. EDMOND, his guardian, reprimands KIT for messing around with bad guys. ALAN takes HO to see PAUL. HO is surprised when PAUL tells him that it is YIN who has arranged the appointment. YEUNG has gone missing.… ...

MC has just had an operation. SARAH takes care of YEUNG for him, but the boy gives her the cold shoulder. ANSON is such a workaholic that she cuts short her honeymoon for work. EDMOND sees KIT being extorted money by his two injurious friends, TAI KAU and SAI DIN, and goes to his help. EDMOND and KIT go to a bar, where PAUL says that he can find KIT a job. BETSY is interested in HENRY’s love life. SARAH tells FRANCES how she appreciates EDMOND for he takes care of his late friend’s younger brother. She mentions HENRY’s name in her conversation and arouses FRANCES’ suspicion. MC is discharged from hospital. He keeps his promise and takes YEUNG to the beach. HENRY has killed the frog that MC has bought for YEUNG for school by accident. SARAH gives MC FRANCES’ pet as a replacement. KIT is very excited and shows EDMOND and FRANCES the gift that his employer has given him. EDMOND and FRANCES are happy for him, too.… ...

SARAH looks at HENRY in a different light when she hears other praising his care for his ex-girlfriend and when she knows that he does voluntary work for a home for the aged. HENRY slips at the old people’s home. UNCLE HO, who lives there, laughs at him and everybody starts to laugh at him, too. EDMOND learns that KIT has been ill and absent from work for a week. He goes to visit KIT, only to discover that he is playing with his bad companions. EDMOND flies into a fit of rage. He takes KIT to work the next day. KIT hits SUM, his boss, without a cause. EDMOND knows only then that SUM has harassed KIT. EDMOND blames himself for not taking good care of KIT. FRANCES also feels guilty to have overlooked KIT’s unusual behavior. SUM tries to persuade KIT into not suing him with money. KIT is provoked by this. EDMOND drives SUM away in anger. EDMOND plans to take KIT home so that he can take better care of him.… ...

SUM goes to the hospital, claiming that he has had a fight with his wife. FRANCES is suspicious about what he says after checking his injuries and taking his and his wife’s body tissue. She has also found a white hair on EDMOND’s head. She suspects that it belongs to the murderer. FRANCES learns from ANSON that SUM’s wife is two month pregnant. Coupled with the chemical substance found on the white hair, FRANCES is sure that SUM is the murder. Unfortunately, the body tissue has already been damaged. FRANCES guesses that KAU may have witnessed the incident and plans to go see him. Yet before she can do so, KAU has been knocked down by a car when he is running away from the police. FRANCES notices that KAU has responded to what she says. It is sad that he dies eventually. PAUL sees FRANCES standing at the rooftop. She tells him how she feels, and he, using his own experience, comforts her.… ...

FRANCES has been suffering from insomnia. She keeps herself busy with all kinds of activities. SARAH worries a lot about her. ANSON has been very irritable recently. She therefore suspects that she is pregnant. She is relieved later to find that it is only a false alarm. BETSY goes to do voluntary work with HENRY and has completely forgotten that she should be playing squash with ANUGS. DEREK is annoyed. BETSY is unhappy to see MAN at the home for the aged. FRANCES meets PAUL in the bowling alley. They have a “competition” to see which of them suffers from more serious insomnia. PAUL takes FRANCES to see the sunrise so as to cheer her up. She falls asleep, with her head rested on his shoulder, in the car. UNCLE HO has a fight with MAN. The doctor finds that MAN is mentally unsound. TSUI SEE HANG, a good friend of TY’s, has come to Hong Kong to work as the Hospital Guest Advisor.… ...

TY points out that MAN suffers from brain pathological change, which explains his silly speech and behavior. He advises MAN to stay for treatment. MAN, nevertheless, insists to leave, and claims that fools have fortune and that it is good that he can play instruments again. MAN teaches YEUNG to play the flute. This reminds BETSY of something in the past. YEUNG comes to MC’s office and finds that the door is locked. He knocks at the window violently, but MC remains motionless. YEUNG gets into a panic. MC, who has been asleep, has finally woken up. He is thrilled that YEUNG cares so much about him and is willing to speak to him now. BETSY tells HENRY about her family and the reason why she is so disgusted about MAN. HENRY comforts her. LAM, CHRIS’ elder sister, finds CHRIS’ recent behavior odd. She tells ANSON to pay more attention to him. ANSON finds out that CHRIS is planning to have a ligation.… ...

MC and other Yan Oi staff go to the pub for a chill out. When it is time for home, both MC and HENRY offer to give SARAH a lift. It turns out that PAUL drives MC home in the end. MC confesses that he likes SARAH in the car. HENRY and SARAH bump into FRANCES, who is packing up in EDMOND’s house. They go up to give her a hand. HANG is going back to Singapore. She entrusts HONG, a paralyzed patient who has just been referred from a sanatorium, to SARAH. FRANCES is well adapted to her new job as a pathologist. TY asks HENRY to do him a favor by asking BETSY to go home. HENRY, however, thinks it is more important to help BETSY stand up again. BETSY vents her anger on ANGUS. DEREK scolds her for neglecting ANGUS’ feelings. CHRIS and his colleagues have won the lottery. He is so excited that he rushes to tell HENRY and takes ANSON to shop for baby products. HONG has got his degree. Everybody at the hospital is happy for him.… ...

SARAH therefore learns by chance that HONG has been affected by the article that HENRY wrote and wanted to end his life. BETSY, who is late for the professional examination, decides not to show up at all. HENRY gives her a good telling off. As requested by SARAH, HENRY tells HONG the reason when he wrote that article. HENRY also feels guilty for not reading and responding to HONG’s e-mails. SARAH is a bit surprised to learn that FRANCES is selling EDMOND’s car to MC. FRANCES explains that she has decided to deal with EDMOND’s things after going to psychological therapy. HENRY and MC learn that PAUL is having an appointment with PHOEBE. HUNG worries that he will have another heart attack. SARAH discovers the tattoo on HONG’s body. She wishes that his ex-wife, Iris, can come and talk to him. PUI PUI, who is mentally challenged, is admitted to hospital because of an accident. CHRIS discovers that she is pregnant. PUI likes children. ANSON therefore advises her parents to talk to PUI first before they make the decision to give up her unborn baby. DEREK, who has a crush on GRACE, tries to please GRACE in every way. ANGUS is not well, yet he dares not tell anyone.… ...

PAUL and PHOEBE, and FRANCES and Nelson, have just started their relationships. SARAH wonders why FRANCES does not choose PAUL. BETSY is thinking of a transfer. ANGUS shows his concern. She mistakes that GRACE is trying to win CHRIS’ favor. HUNG is trying to end LUK’s life. HONG is shocked. Fortunately, PO and ANSON come to stop HUNG in time.… ...

GRACE and DEREK go to the movie. He receives a call, telling him that ANGUS has blacked out at home. Fortunately, DEREK’s mother sees this and rushes him to hospital before it is too late. YEUNG uses up his pocket money to buy something for the dinner, after which he has to walk home. MAN offers to help him cook when he sees how helpless he is. MAN collapses when he is cooking; YEUNG is panic. DEREK scolds ANGUS for giving up his job as a doctor. When he finishes, he stomps away. PAUL, who sees everything, goes up and gives him a lesson. Troubled by YEUNG’s custody, MC is rather emotional, so much so that he kisses SARAH by force. HENRY happens to see this and he pushes MC away. HENRY has left his keys in the office. He is looking for a locksmith when he bumps into BETSY.… ...

KWONG has a traffic accident and is sent to hospital. Not until then does he know that he has chronic kidney failure. A patient named Albert, despite his old age, is very lustful. He is interested in SARAH when he sees how much she appreciates his red wine, which not many people do. Albert can see that HENRY likes SARAH. He points to HENRY that he is no match to SARAH.
