Episode 1

Animal Welfare Officer Matt Brown finds an injured young male cat that has lost its tail. Jo helps investigate why Maisie has bladder problems. A concerned member of the public calls Inspector Anthony Joynes about a cat in her shed, and loveable tomcat Bruce has issues with his teeth. Jo takes a lesson in oral hygiene for cats, we find out why cats tongues are so rough, and from the internet we take another look at amazing rescues from across the world.

Episode 2

Inspector Anthony Joynes rescues a cat who has given birth under a disused cabin. Brody needs an operation for his broken leg. Cat Chloe has been stuck up a tree for five days, and we take a look at why cats get stuck in trees with Giles Clark. Jo meets a woman who runs a cat sanctuary at her home, and from YouTube we see an amazing rescue from America.

Episode 3

Inspector Herchy Boal is called to a flat in Birmingham overrun by around 17 cats and is worried about the welfare of a tiny black kitten. Veterinary nurse Eden is looking after tiny orphan kitten Pumpkin, while Inspector Keira Benham follows up on a call about an injured feral cat called Esme. We join the search for the rare Indigenous Scottish Wildcat, get the low-down on Catmint, and meet Ronnie and Reggie who have both lost an eye each. To finish, we see a YouTube clip of another rescue from across the world.

Episode 4

Inspector Herchy Boal rushes several kittens to the vet with potentially-fatal cat flu, Jo helps give a hearing test to four blue-eyed white kittens, and we find out why cats meow. Inspector Keira Benham attempts to rescue a heavily-pregnant feral cat, and Jo meets two black rescue cats that have a potential new owner. Inspector Paul Heaton rescues a cat abandoned when the owners moved house, and from YouTube, we see another amazing rescue from across the world.

Episode 5

Inspector Paul Heaton rescues a cat chained to a fence. In Macclesfield, Twenty firefighters work to rescue Ezri, who has been stuck down a storm drain for more than 10 hours. Marta miraculously survived falling at least four floors from a balcony, but needs surgery to fix her broken leg. Jo helps with 3 abandoned kittens. Nine-month old Tiger was found pregnant after being rescued from a multi-cat household - her story will be followed throughout the series. We also take a behind the scenes look at the production team who make the series in a segment titled "Small Cat Diaries".

Inspector Matt Brown receives a report about a family of kittens hiding in the loft above a shop. Inspector Anthony Pulfer goes to extreme lengths to save a stray tomcat who has fallen into a tiny courtyard. Jo finds out the most effective way to sedate a feral cat. We also take a second behind the scenes look in "Small Cat Diaries" at how the series promotional photographs are made.

In Birmingham, Inspector Herchy Boal investigates a complaint about a neglected cat with a broken leg. Inspector Matt Brown is sent to pick up two cats trapped in an abandoned property. Jo assists with kitten neutering. We take another behind the scenes look in "Small Cat Diaries" at how the interview technique called 'The Interrotron' is made.

In Essex, there's a high-risk rescue for Animal Collection Officer Joe White, when a kitten is spotted on a motorway's hard shoulder. Inspector Sam Durrant visits an owner reported for keeping his cats and himself in unhygienic conditions. Jo meets the tiniest kitten she has ever seen. In "Small Cat Diaries" we see a rescue that the production cameras couldn't be there for.

It's double trouble for Inspector Herchy Boal, when she picks up two litters of kittens. As with any unvaccinated kittens living outside, cat flu is a major risk. Animal Collection Officer Matt Brown rescues a cat on a telegraph pole. Jo assists with radical ear surgery on cat Ocean. In "Small Cat Diaries" we take a behind the scenes look at how the all-important title sequence is made.

Inspector Sam Durrant needs the fire brigade to help rescue a cat stuck up a tree. Jo finds out just how itchy it must be for a cat to have ear mites.
