From the first chapter we realize that Tere suffers and has always suffered with her overweight problem since her classmates laughed at her since high school, and constantly nicknamed her a whale, fat, hippopotamus. This leads Tere to want to forget this trauma by joining the Chubby Anonymous club, where people like her express her problems in her life.
