Episode 1 begins in the North Island, at the capital city of Wellington. Driving with my Kiwi friend Matt, he takes me off the beaten track to show me how Kiwi's enjoy their own country.  Stops include Vinegar Hill, Napier, Tokomaru Bay, Rere Rockslide and Whakatane to do the White Island Volcano Tour.  Then I take Matt on the classic backpacking trail, making him a tourist in his own country.

Stops include Auckland, Waiheke Island, Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, Rotorua, Taupo and the Tongariro Crossing.

New Zealand Road Trip: Ep 1 - Backpacking the North Island

Episode 2 I travel to the South Island by myself, meeting up with a couple of friends along the way.

Beginning in Nelson to explore the Abel Tasman National Park, I then head south to Franz Josef for a helicopter ride and a sky dive over the glacier.

In Wanaka, I tackle Roys Peak before moving on to Queenstown, to hike Ben Lommond, try out the Canyon Swing, the Canyon Fox Swing, Shotover Jet Boating plus exploring Glenorchy and Paradise.

There's Lord of the Rings locations galore on the way to Doubtful Sound. Following this I catch up with my old Kiwi Experience bus driver in Dunedin.

Finally I have one last trip up into the mountains to see Aoraki, Mt Cook, plus Mt Sunday otherwise known as Edoras.
