Alex Nicholas, an eleven-year-old was a curious little boy who was always trying to find out how things work. His inquisitiveness led Alex to safety when the Hot-Air Balloon was overthrown by the windy conditions.

Brandon Abston, a twelve-year-old daydreamer noticed a fire in one of the first floor apartments in his building. The sounds of screaming children caused Brandon to react immediately, and went inside and saved the children. He was later awarded with a medal of bravery.

Collen Cooke, a nine-year-old decided to embark on a ride in the mountains with her father after receiving some lasso lessons. While reaching for his drink behind the horse, Colleen's father was kicked in the head, and the horse escaped into the forest. Colleen's persistence and quick thinking saved her father's life, and she was awarded three medals from the President of the United States.

Thee uncle of thirteen-year-old Shawna Trantham, while celebrating Christmas, decided to take his relatives in his plane to view all the lights. As they were flying over the canyon, the plane's engine died, and eventually crashed at the bottom of the canyon. All her relatives were hurt, however, Shawna was able to escape and call for help.

John Ruiz, a thirteen-year-old was excited for a fishing trip with his father. Caught up in the excitement of a big catch, John, his uncle and father forgot about the unsafe water conditions. John's father was very badly hurt, and it was John's efforts and actions that saved his father's life.

Hayes Stuppy, a twelve-year-olid d learned about first afrom his father, a doctor. Hayes used his skills of first aid to help his father, after an earthquake - an artery was cut in his father, after stepping on broken glass.

Fifteen-year-old Matt Meyers had a room full of artefacts brought from his adventurous hikes. He went out for a horse ride with his father in a wooded canyon, when it started to rain, and they had to turn around. Impatient with the weather, Matt decided to go in search of more artefacts, but the dense fog caused him to become lost.

Jolene Daniels, an eight-year-old loved to drive any kind of vehicle he was allowed to drive. While searching for a Christmas tree, Jolene drove the family's truck into the woods. They left the keys in the ignition and took the snowmobile further into the woods. Her father slipped off the tree he was climbing, and sustained serious injuries, so Jolene decided to hop into the truck and drive it to her grandmother's to call for help.

While on vacation with her family in Florida, twelve-year-old Melissa Rodriquez became fascinated with underwater creatures. While swimming unsupervised with her cousins, a shark grabbed Melissa's ankle, and she was pulled along the lake. Remembering what she had learned back at the aquarium show, Melissa kicked the shark in its eyes and nose - the most sensitive part of the shark.

Fourteen-year-old Matthew Sperber flew home from a fishing trip in the Bahamas with his father and a family friend, when suddenly, their small plane developed engine problems and nose-dived into the Atlantic. Each of the passengers clung to lifejackets and they were stranded in the water for two days. When a small plane passed, Matthew was able to produce foam, by kicking the water, and successfully grabbed the passing plane's attention.

Shawn Durrant, an eighteen-year-old obtained a winter job as a ski-lift operator, and he was trained how to operate lifts safely and correctly. One night, a six-year-old girl slipped from her chair and was dangling by one arm from the grasp of her frightened mother. Shawn stopped the lift, and began climbing a pole, then hauling himself hand-over-hand along the cable until he reached the chair. He was then able to help the mother pull her daughter to safety.

David James, a fifteen-year-old, must pass his French test and was directed to just take a short hike in the neighbouring mountains. Near the end of the day, his grandfather slipped on the trail and fell almost 1000 feet down a cliff. Inevitably, the first aid lessons his grandfather taught him helped to save his life.

A sixteen-year-old boy scout, Jason Francois embarked on a weeklong Scout training trip. The group learned the eating habits of wild animals, and how you should never keep food in or about the campsite. One night, Jason heard screaming, and ran out to see a 400-pound black bear dragging his friend from the camp. Jason threw rocks at the bear until it eventually disappeared into the woods, and tended to his friends wounds. Jason was later awarded the Honour Medal for Bravery.

While kayaking down rough water of a river, John's kayak was trapped between a tree and a stump at the edge of the river. The kayak folded, and crushed his legs, while pinning John inside. Jared, in his kayak close by, made bold efforts to bring Jon to safety, and alerting a rescue crew.

Chris, Kerry, her mother and father, Melody and Bill decided to go on a canoe trip down the river. Up ahead in the river, Kerry noticed a sharp curve left and on the right was a fallen tree. As the current pulled the canoes, everyone fell into the water. Chris rescued Kerry, who was unable to swim.

Kris Cheater hurried home from hockey practise to help his father crop dust a neighbouring wheat field, using a small plane. On the last pass, the plane's landing gear clipped a power line, causing it to plummet and crash upside down. The chemicals and gas from the plane spilled out around it causing it to burst into flames with the father trapped inside. Kris and Kelly's persistence and quick action eventually save their father's life.

When thirteen-year-old Amy Toole learned that rope constricted her brother's friend's arms, ears, and neck, she immediately cut the boy loose, and began CPR to save his life.

When a man slipped off a 600 -oot cliff, and started sliding down the steep slope, Shawn and Colin reacted quickly by rigging a harness and using it to lower the man to a lower place, where he could get his footing.

On the way to school, a bus began to swerve violently, and the bus driver's body was slumped to the side. Larry Champagne immediately walked to the front of the bus, and grabbed hold of the wheel and corrected its movements until the bus could slow down safely.

Omar and Shuggie arrived to help Mrs. Lewis and her son, by straining over and over to lift the car to free the son, but the weight of the car was too much for them. Their friend, Raymond arrived and pulled the car up, long enough to free the boy.

Dante and Aaron were hiking up a mountain trail, when a mountain lion jumped out of the woods. The strength of the mountain lion forced Dante to the ground, and Aaron began kicking it and throwing sticks and rocks in effort to save his friend.

In a conversation over the internet, his chatting buddy began crying out desperate pleas, revealing that she was having asthmatic attacks. Sean was able to keep her focus and call for an emergency team to rescue her.

Sixteen-year-old Eli and his disabled father were scouting a handicapped hunting area by van. While driving though thick bush, the van stalled, and Eli kept his father under blankets due to the cold weather. Eli travelled down the road for 4.5 hours before coming across a cabin. Shortly after, a rescue team was sent for Eli's father.

John Baker, 53-years-old collapsed and stopped breathing during an Arkansas marathon, and twelve-year-old Stephanie Sherman was the first to react and step in to administer mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to save the man's life.
