Darkness hangs over the garda station following the death of one of the inmates who was being held in the cell and Sergeant Brian McGonigle, Adrijan and Sean are all questioned by the ombudsman over the fatal events. Meanwhile, Sharon is still struggling at work and is threatened once more by a persistent Brian as her refusal to request a transfer has incensed him.

Brian gets more than be bargained for when he clashes with a local teenage tearaway who accuses him of police brutality, and Sharon makes a sickening discovery about the officer's private life.
