Episode 1

The drug trade is the starting point for their rise in the criminal world. But the Lebanese struggles to manage his undisciplined men, first and foremost: Dandi.

Thanks to drug dealing, Libano and his associates patrol neighborhoods and make enemies. Scialoja realizes that Patrizia is the key to tracking down the criminals, but the attraction between them complicates the investigation.

Money in spades and unfinished business for the Gang. An old boss, the Terrible, wants to nip it in the bud: a brutal war for power is about to hit Rome. Scialoja is the first to sense it, but he has no proof.

Mysterious emissaries contact Lebanon to find Aldo Moro; Freddo, opposed to political interference, distances himself. Meanwhile, Terrible provides Scialoja with evidence to frame the Gang.

The gang has begun its revenge, but Commissioner Scialoja is pressing them. Freddo, Dandi, and Bufalo organize an ambush to track down one of the Lebanese's alleged killers.

The gang hatches a new plan to kill Maurizio Gemito after the first ambush fails. The task is assigned to Dandi, who must regain the trust of his companions.

The police raid Patrizia's brothel and arrest her. During the search, Scialoja uncovers a crucial clue to the possible collusion between the secret services and the gang. Meanwhile, Dandi is torn between remaining loyal to his comrades or forming an alliance with Sardo.

The gang is in dire straits: Commissioner Scialoja has seized their arsenal and is gathering crucial evidence. Meanwhile, Don Mimmo, the Camorra boss, is plotting revenge and trying to frame Freddo. To protect his friend, Dandi turns to Uncle Carlo.

Solidarity among the gang members falters: Bufalo, on trial, trusts only Freddo, who advises him to file for insanity. Dandi works covertly to uncover Patrizia's hideout. Scrocchiazeppi must find a solution to the family debts.

The gang is torn apart by quarrels and betrayals. Freddo ends up in prison, Bufalo seeks revenge on the increasingly rich and powerful Dandi. Commissioner Scialoja tries to exploit the moment of confusion to launch a decisive attack with the help of an unexpected witness.

The gang ends up in court. Thanks to the key testimony of one of the criminals, Scialoja manages to arrest them. The network of agreements and friendships allows Dandi to be exonerated due to lack of evidence. But in the post-sentence confusion, two other gang members escape.

Several years after the trial, Freddo returns to Rome for personal revenge. While Scialoja continues to harass the gang's survivors, Rome prepares to witness an all-out war, with no holds barred.

Love, business, anxieties, friendships, feuds, and resentments paint the picture of the main story, that of a group of criminals who for nearly fifteen years, from 1977 to 1992, cherished an illusion: that of conquering Rome. The Lebanese, Freddo, Dandi, Patrizia, and Commissioner Scialoja are some of the characters inspired by the true story of the Magliana gang.

As stated by Aldo Grasso, the first season of the series gives more space to the crime scene, that is, the criminal exploits of the Magliana gang, while the second season delves deeper into the "behind the scenes" of the crime: thus, the gang's repositioning after a key plot event, and the effects and questions this has provoked in the protagonists' consciences.
