  Sam wishes for nothing more than an uncomplicated Sunday, but he wakes up with a hangover for a start, and then is blackmailed by Janet into making the tea. He is then questioned by Janet about his attractive secretary, gets interested in a woman's magazine love story, only to find the vital page missing, decides to do some gardening but realises it is lunchtime, thinks he will go for a walk and it begins to rain. "All I need now," he says, "is for her brother to come round on a surprise visit with his stupid wife." Guess who pays a surprise visit?

Sam seeks refuge at the local where he gets chatting to a young man called Andy who claims he is building up dutch courage to meet the parents of his girlfriend - "a right little raver" - who has a flat in town.
