The search for a home brings tragedy and triumph as baby hippo Mafuta faces new dangers. Crocodile Magamba defends her hatchlings, and Duma the cheetah struggles to make friends.

As the land dries, everyone struggles to find water. The hippos get trapped in the shrinking lake, and Nalla the elephant finds a clever solution to quench everyone’s thirst.

As the animal families escape the drought, the land returns to its former beauty. New life is born, old rivalries are laid to rest and new alliances are forged.
