Steve Sullivan returns home to Pittsburgh to celebrate his father, Jack Sullivan's birthday. He quickly learns that Jack is retiring and selling the family bar Sullivan & Son. Steve contemplates leaving his New York corporate life behind to buy the bar from his parents.

Now that Steve owns the bar he needs to set boundaries with his parents. When the health inspector shows up Ok Cha wants to pay him off, but Steve refuses and the bar is shut down for the first time ever. Without the bar, everyone seems lost except for Owen who discovers surprisingly productive ways to spend his time.

Steve hosts a party for the 50th anniversary of the bar bringing back a lot of people and memories, not all good. Steve and Melanie uncover a secret about the origins of the bar. Jack and Ok Cha quarrel over the unearthed details of their courtship. Owen and Carol act as wingmen for each other with their former high school classmates.

An annual father-and-son darts tournament triggers personal dramas, as Owen decides to find his biological father and Jack struggles with abandonment issues. Meanwhile, Hank and Carol try to conceal an old secret.

Professional and personal relationships are put to the test by an alleged pantry thief. Meanwhile, Owen pursues an oddball business venture with Ahmed; and Carol and Hank delve into new and old ways to date.

Open-mic night is held but after things don't go to plan Steve hopes Carol and Owen's inappropriate act will save the day.

Meanwhile, clad in new suits, Owen and Ahmed accidentally take two classy ladies to the most expensive restaurant in Pittsburgh, but can't pay the bill.

Carol manages to reconnects with a sightly man, but complications soon follow after her son Owen wants to spend time with him. Ok Cha battles it out against Roy in an eating contest.

Roy's Mom and Hank begin dating when she moves back into town. Owen and Ahmed are threatened by a girl.

Steve wishes that he had taken some time off from the bar and Jack shows him how his presence has positively impacted everyone.
