The four couples are introduced and move into The Block. They randomly draw keys to discover their assigned flat. Everyone is shocked to discover the level of devastation in each apartment. After ripping out horrible old carpets to discover hardwood, one couple finds weak boards...and then termites. An ongoing issue with water leaking from an upstairs apartment creates strife.

Episode 1

Upstairs noise becomes a major issue for the downstairs tenants as there is no carpet or insulation to muffle it. All the couples meet for a body corporate (homeowner's association) resulting in a coup.

Episode 2

Termites are discovered throughout! The tenants begin to spy on each other and renovation turns into reconstruction as floorplans begin to change.

Episode 3

Couples work hard to complete their second room for judging. More division between the upstairs and downstairs tenant develops. Poor communication between the tenants results in near electrocution.

Episode 4

No running water for some and judgment for the next room. More intrigue develops between the neighbors as they continue to spy on each other.

Episode 5

The couples rush to finish their third room to win a bonus. Issues arise when one couple plans to relocate their hot water unit.

Episode 6

Emotions run high as all the contestants juggle renovation with their day job responsibilities. They all take a break from the hard work to see Amity launch her singing career at a bar around the corner.

Episode 8

Room four winners are revealed. The front garden and attic spaces are still a point of contention as every dollar must be accounted. Amity's dream of becoming a recording artist move closer to reality.

Episode 9

Work on the final rooms leaps ahead. A couple switches up their floorplan by redoing a room they'd already completed. The couples pull out all the stops.

Episode 10

Judgement on the last room at last. Tempers break and one couple threatens to leave the competition.

This season finale covers auction day and the winners of the real estate challenge.

Grand Finale Auction

The original four couples from The Block return as a team to compete against designers from other home improvement shows. The 'Reno'vation Rumble pits the two teams against a one week clock to refurbish identical homes to be given to a local childhood cancer charity.

Reno Rumble (Part 1)

Despite the need to cooperate to complete the tasks for charity, one team completely unravels while a trip to the pub becomes a point of contention for the other. One team show much better organization than the other. One team fails to deliver the first four rooms on time, even after negotiating an extension.

Reno Rumble (Part 2)

The teams must deliver their houses complete, including front and back yards. Generous donations from many contributors keep costs so low, that one team actually makes money. Another time extension makes it possible for both teams to finish even though not all team members work the final day. The winners are announced. Families are given the keys to the new homes.

The Four couples’ renovations are now well underway. They have to deliver their guest bedroom, but host Scott Cam has another surprise that will make that task even harder.

The teams are faced with a major demolition job as they race to complete their living rooms in just one week. In a dramatic twist, one couple is accused of cheating and host Scott Cam has to make a very difficult decision.

In this final week of their renovation, the four teams have to produce their toughest rooms yet, with just seven days to create a prize-winning kitchen, and have their apartments ready for public auction next week.

After eight weeks of renovations all four apartments will go to public auction. The couple who make the most above reserve will also win $100,000.

The Final

The show returns with Melbourne as its location. Eight couples turn up to compete in a fierce elimination challenge. Hosted by Scott Cam.

The competition heats up as the show hosts a state of origin clash when Polly and Waz from New South Wales take on Chrissy and Toby from Queensland.

Elimination Night 2

Youth and enthusiasm versus age and experience in the third of four elimination challenges. Chris and Carrie from NSW compete with Tania and Rod from country Vic.

Elimination Night 3

In the last of the eliminations, two sets of sisters take sibling rivalry to a new level: twins Laura and Emily from Victoria versus Katrina and Amie from country New South Wales.

Four couples make it through the elimination. They think they're home free but Scotty has another surprise. The couples compete to determine their place in the order of the choice of property to renovate.

The Key Challenge

In a one-hour episode, Scott Cam introduces the couples to their new homes, four dilapidated properties in Melbourne's Richmond. For the first time they get an idea of just how much scary-crazy work lies ahead of them.

Challenge master Shelley Craft puts the couples through another challenge that has them driving all over Melbourne searching for much-needed cash and a very big twist.

This one-hour episode introduces Scotty's Workshop, a place where the couples will not only compete for the opportunity to win cash and bonuses but learn valuable skills from the master builder.
