Artemis, a 30-year-old taekwondo champion, is forced to work at a gym after suffering an injury. There, she meets Tania, the wife of Russian tycoon Ivan, who asks her to privately train her husband's son, Dimitris. Although Artemis agrees at first, she soon realizes that Tania’s true intention wasn’t training—but caregiving, as Dimitris is on the autism spectrum. Encouraged by her best friend, Sissy, Artemis begins looking after Dimitris and gradually grows emotionally attached to him. But everything changes one night, when two hooded men break into the mansion to kidnap Dimitris.

Artemis realizes she can’t rely on the police, so she and Dimitris flee the mansion, while Ivan and Tania remain missing. With a manhunt underway, Artemis seeks shelter at her estranged mother Vana’s house. But when the authorities track her down there, she escapes once more—this time to her father’s remote village. What she doesn’t know is that the village holds secrets of its own.

Artemis tries to settle into her father’s village, but right from the start she senses that something is off with the locals. When Dimitris forgets his special noise-cancelling headphones back at the mansion, Artemis has no choice but to return to retrieve them. Meanwhile, Irina is determined to find Dimitris by any means necessary—but an unexpected issue with her daughter, Sofia, forces her to momentarily pause the search.

Artemis, along with Dimitris, Vana, Sissy and Themis, try to escape Irina’s thugs and end up hiding in a local street market. Irina, meanwhile, decides to teach Sofia’s classmate a lesson to stop him from bothering her daughter. Back in Neochori, the villagers take advantage of Artemis’s absence and dig up Yakinthos's body from her yard, intending to bury it somewhere else. The problem is—they have no idea where.

Artemis and the others settle into the village house, but living together proves challenging. Things take a turn for the worse when an Amber Alert about Dimitris' disappearance airs on TV. As the group scrambles to alter Dimitris' appearance to avoid recognition, he suddenly vanishes.
