Perica Šafranek is a Croatian-Serbian language teacher at a Zagreb elementary school, torn between dreams and reality, between her caring mother Ana and her ambitious wife Željka. His best friend is Žnida, the son of the late owner of the inn K Žnidaršić, which was nationalized after the war, but Žnida runs his not always legal business from it every day. The sudden death of Perica's aunt Ernest Fulir will trigger events that will change the lives of the heroes of this story.

After singing performances in the village fire station and in the selection of Miss Dugo Selo, Perica's career will get a new rise - Žnida arranged for him to participate in the radio show Mikrofon je vaš. But before that, Perica is waiting for a joint performance with Nada at a school event on the occasion of Youth Day, which will reveal a lot. After a kiss with Boss Željko, he submits a request to be transferred to another station. Fulir is courting Mrs. Ana, and Žnida is inquiring about him with Inspector Matić.
