The enigmatic Hallgrim Hallgrimsson is on his way to Iceland to see his sick mother when he is called back because a policeman has been killed at Copenhagen airport. In trying to find the truth about a batch of uranium that was seized by the Danish police, Hallgrim befriends a Chechen scientist in Oslo who has a sinister mission in life.
