Keira and Chardonnay receive a less than warm welcome when they are initiated into the Sunbeams. Meanwhile, Blue struggles with fitting in while at Sabers training camp when a prank war between him and Malik goes too far.

Jason's jersey is retired at a special ceremony; Keira hopes to reconnect with Blue.

Tasha's boyfriend Kenny (guest star Rocky Carroll) confronts her about her aggressive attitude, and asks her to tone it down when he introduces her to his group of friends. Later, during a gathering with Kenny's friends, a comment made about Tasha sends her off the deep end. Meanwhile, one of Melanie's late-night study sessions causes problems with Derwin.

Derwin and Melanie are now two years married with Melanie being a housewife and a step-mom to Derwin’s son. If you remember, she spent the previous few seasons studying to become a doctor. Of course, she has some suspicion that Derwin’s son isn’t really his so she decides to get a DNA test behind his back. Tasha Mack dating a much younger guy named Donte. She tries to keep her true feelings for him low but ends up breaking out emotionally when she discovers his ex-girlfriend was Sheree from the show “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Meanwhile, we see Malik’s success getting to his head. He is currently sleeping with the majority owner of his team’s girlfriend (played by the hot Meagan Good) and he is pushing his best friend to the limits. He eventually gets caught by his friend Terrence who walks in on Malik in a Jacuzzi with the owner’s girlfriend and Terrence’s girlfriend. Lastly, the ongoing battle between Jason and Kelly continue. They just got out of their divorce and they spend the entire episode trying to get each other even more upset.

Melanie is eager to have sex with Derwin so that she could finally conceive a child of her own.

Tasha spends an entire day in therapy, in an effort to get to the root of her relationship issues. During therapy, Malik is forced to tell Tasha why he thinks her relationships fail.

When Malik finds out that the love of his life, model/actress Eva Marcelle (guest starring as herself) is getting married, he decides to use up-and-coming singer Drew Sidora (guest starring as herself) to make Eva jealous. Learning that she has been used, Drew turns to Derwin as a shoulder to cry on. Later, Drew asks Derwin to be in her new music video and their on-screen kiss leads to more than he anticipated. Tia Mowry, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Coby Bell and Brittany Daniel also star.

Backed into a corner, Malik turns to the Sabers' new owner for help; Derwin worries about his image following Malik's troubles.

Malik finds himself caught between Tori and Reece; Keira is shocked when the intervention she staged for Blue doesn't quite go as planned.

Malik is severely beaten by Franko and his crew, and everyone awaits word of his fate. As they hold a vigil at the hospital, Blue and Keira contemplate the next steps in their relationship. After realizing he is a difficult husband, Jason attempts to make amends with Chardonnay by writing an apology letter to Kelly. Finally, Tasha and Walter arrive at the hospital in time to hear the news of Malik’s prognosis.

In the Season 9 premiere, Blue starts a brawl when he finds Keira and Malik together—and the ruckus us caught by a surveillance camera. In other events, Chardonnay tries to expose Jason's steroid use.

Malik tells Tasha that he is having problems with the offensive coordinator, Kenny, so she sets out to settle the problem. At the end, Tasha and Kenny disagree about Malik's career but end up liking each other.

When Derwin rehires Irv it sets off Melanie searching for her role in life while Tasha sues Derwin and Irv for money she believes she is owed. Meanwhile, Malik is forced to evaluate his extravagant lifestyle.

The walkout crisis comes to a head; Kelly and Jason hold a meeting to rally supporters; and Keira and Malik encounter their past while out on a date.

A minor argument escalates into a major locker room rift between Jason and Malik that affects their playing relationship on the field. The locker room tension spills over to Kelly and Tasha, leaving Melanie in the middle and in an awkward position when she insists that they all come to her house for a dinner party. Pooch Hall also stars.

Malik becomes the whopping boy for a cartoonist after making a politically incorrect statement. Things take a change for the worse when Malik tries to make amends and ends up punching the cartoonist. Malik turns to Tasha to help him but she's out signing a new client to Tasha Mack Management. Meanwhile, guilt stricken Jason confesses to Derwin about this lies to Kelly about his use of steroids.

Kelly takes Brittany and leaves Jason when he refuses to stop taking steroids, Meanwhile, Derwin tries to impress a pretty woman but she sees through his facade and decides to school him on how to treat a lady.
