In his fifth annual New Year's Eve special, comedian Ron James offers his unique comedic take on Canada's ever-changing seasons. Joining James to celebrate are special guests Grammy & Juno winner Ed Robertson from Barenaked Ladies, Canadian rock legend Kim Mitchell and Kid in the Hall Scott Thompson. In special New Year's sketches, Aunt Vivien turns the tables and skypes a New Year's Message to Her Royal Highness; a man loses his cool over constantly being asked for holiday donations; Buddy the Newfie Vampire receives a visit from the temptress who "turned him" 118 years earlier; and The Mayor puts his foot in it again while delivering his New Year's message. Larry Garibaldi fantasizes about getting his revenge on a bigoted shopper who thinks that all the "foreigners" should be sent back home and Lil Ronnie finds an unusual way to spell out a special holiday message for his family.

Starring comedian Ron James, the show intersperses filmed and stage sketches with clips of James performing his stand-up routine. One of the show's more noted features is L'il Ronnie James, an animated recurring sketch which depicts James as a young child growing up in Cape Breton in the vein of Terry Gilliam's animation style.
