They are the stuff of horror films and ghost stories - reanimated corpses rising from the grave to torment the living. But could there be any factual basis for the existence of zombies?

Surprising as it may seem, many people believe that these creatures of the night are not solely relegated to the supernatural. In this bone-chilling program, take a look into the ancient practice of voodo, which features zombies as an essential part of its belief system, and listen as Max Beauvoir, a voodoo priest and zombie expert, provides some remarkable testimony about his own experiences with the so-called "walking dead". In other interviews, a biochemical researcher reveals a possible scientific basis for resurrection, while Haitian experts elaborate on the importance of zombies in voodoo lore and Haitian culture.

Featuring dramatic re-enactments and evidence from believers and skeptics alike, A&E presents this compelling look into zombie mythology.
