Alberto initially refuses, but when Ana learns of the deal, she breaks off their engagement and urges Alberto to marry Cristina if it will save Velvet. Alberto reluctantly agrees and becomes engaged to Cristina, while a heartbroken Ana prepares to leave Madrid for a new job out of town.

Ana and Cristina search for the perfect gift for Alberto's birthday. Rita is finding it hard to cover for her sister Clara, who's cheating on Pedro.
