Marek refuses to credibly explain the gaps in his alibi, making him the prime suspect. Tensions between Elena and Adam are intensifying, as Adam will stop at nothing, shows no regard for anyone, and even involves Elena's son Tomáš in the investigation. However, when the real reason behind the gaps in Marek's alibi is revealed—thanks to Rebeka, the owner of the local guesthouse—it causes yet another upheaval in his already struggling family.

Out of desperation over the police’s continued failure to find the perpetrator, Barbora begins to place her trust in a charlatan. Thanks to Viki, media attention also turns to the Lichner family at a time when what they need most is peace and privacy. Adam starts facing demons from his past, and for the first time, his ability to investigate the case is seriously called into question. Yet he stubbornly rejects all of Elena’s attempts at reconciliation. Strange and mysterious ties also begin to surface between Marek’s friend Noro and Zuzana, who only recently moved to the town.
