Starting his search with the bottles, Adam enlists the help of local glass expert Steve Greenwood. He discovers they’re linked to a funeral parlour that once stood next door, and the bottles provide a curious insight to life and death in the Victorian goldfields. Tracking through the trail of title deeds and library records, Adam traces Ashcombe’s history to a young, savvy entrepreneur, George Crocker, whose name is still recognised in Ballarat today.
