He then turns up the power of his jutsu and propels it towards Delta. Kawaki starts living in the Uzumaki household, and at first he’s bewildered by their peaceful everyday life. Eventually he’s put to ease by the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere of the Uzumakis. Meanwhile, Boruto is furious that Kawaki has broken a vase that his little sister had made for their mother, fanning the flames between them. As a fellow wielder of the Karma, Kawaki makes a proposal.

Kawaki has lost an arm in the battle against Delta, so he is given the prosthetic arm made for Naruto. Though the prosthetic can't move without Naruto's chakra, Naruto shares some of his chakra with Kawaki. Kawaki is surprised by this gesture and remembers how Naruto said that chakra is the power to form bonds with one another. He asks Naruto to train him in Ninjutsu. It's Valentine's Day and the boys of Class C are excited about whether or not they will receive chocolates. Meanwhile, Karuizawa seems uneasy over Ayanokoji's request to meet up and while doing so an unexpected person appears...

In order for Kawaki to become a genin, it’s decided that he can take a special test that differs from the one held at the Ninja Academy. A D-rank mission is deemed to be equivalent, so Kawaki is assigned as an additional member. However, he is difficult to work with, ignores the need for teamwork, and acts on his own—giving his teammates a hard time while disrupting the mission!

Kawaki starts to believe that being a genin is not for him. The Seventh Hokage gives him a last shot and assigns him to join Shikadai and Cho-Cho on a mission to protect Mozuku, from the Land of Calm Seas, and escort him back to his homeland. Will Kawaki be able to cooperate with his comrades and fulfill the mission this time? Meanwhile, Team 7 is on another mission and they pass a group who seem to be ninja in disguise…

Cho-Cho is injured in an attack by a mysterious ninja and the item that Mozuku had been holding is stolen. Captain Shikadai realizes that this was no ordinary guard mission, but one that makes them the targets of other ninja. He immediately decides to turn back toward home. But Kawaki feels for Mozuku, who was entrusted with the item that would save his people, so he ignores Shikadai's orders and pursues the ninja along with Mozuku. All alone, Kawaki faces a powerful enemy who uses a strange jutsu. Will he be able to protect Mozuku and safely return him to the Land of Calm Seas?

As Boruto and the others ready their plan, they learn that one enemy unit is heading to the village ahead of the rest. Since they haven’t finished making preparations, the village will be in danger, so they hurry to evacuate everyone. Kagura worries that they won’t have enough people to fight. Just in case, he releases the curse placed on Buntan, Hebiichigo, and Kyoho, temporarily setting them free. Hesitantly, they agree to fight alongside Kagura and Boruto.

Class C considers various strategies for the special exam, but they all lack a decisive factor. Hirata remains disappointed in the class vote result. Ayanokoji calls out to Hirata, who acts coldly towards Mii-chan who is worried about him.

The class narrowly lost to Class A in the final exam, and were demoted back to Class D. However, the students showed growth throughout the year. Horikita, in particular, having grown as leader requests to dissolve the alliance with Class B.

Everyone in Class C has passed their year-end exam. While relief flows through the classroom, Chabashira announces a special exam. It will be a class vote to choose three people worthy of praise and three worthy of censure.

Al had another childhood friend other than Testa, and her name was Ilvia. Al will always remember her.

While on the lookout near Dotou Island, a giant mobile fortress appears before Boruto and his friends. Kagura orders Boruto, Kawaki, and Buntan to sneak into the fortress to gather information. Sarada and Mitsuki are able to join up with Denki and the other members of Team 5, and together they begin their plan to save the people of the island.

Boruto and his friends manage to triumph over Funamushi, but they aren’t able to savor the victory. Everyone is having a difficult time believing Denki and Iwabe are still alive days after being captured. Meanwhile, Boruto discovers a hidden side of Funamushi when he is targeted by people who looked up to the pirate, as revenge begets more revenge. Boruto has always continued to push forward until now, but this causes him to question the point of fighting.

Al, Helen, and Ruri must expose Nedilus’ evil deeds and thwart his plan! However, everything depends on rescuing a hostage imprisoned in the castle first.

Amado defects from Kara. Desiring to seek asylum in the Leaf Village, he takes Shikadai hostage. If granted asylum, Amado promises to provide the Leaf Village with every bit of knowledge that he has about Kara.

Naruto, proposes that the Chunin Exam be held to raise morale after Isshiki’s attack. Everyone is fired up for the exam, eager to show off the results of their training and experience they’ve gained from missions.
