Spencer’s worlds come together to celebrate his birthday in Beverly Hills. But mixing the dysfunctional families – with the dash of an unexpected guest – ends in disaster. Olivia and Jordan, on a mission to uncover a family secret, discover a missing link to their father’s past. Meanwhile, Coop and Patience struggle to define their blossoming romance.

Spencer tries not to repeat the mistakes of his past with his relationship with Layla and Olivia struggles with her sobriety. Billy reveals to Laura something he did to protect his family, while Coop has conflicted emotions about reuniting with her father.

Spencer decides to go to the family cabin to clear his head, but he gets a surprise visit from his friends; Billy shows up to the house to do a few repairs.

With Spencer in bad shape, Grace, Billy, Laura, Olivia and Layla rush to his side. Knowing there is a big decision he needs to make, the community from both Crenshaw and Beverly Hills rally around him to show support. In the meantime, Spencer asks Coop to do him a favor, but somehow things go from bad to worse. Elsewhere, Jordan and his teammates step up to help Billy out while he is tending to other matters.

When the truth comes out, Laura is furious and is left to face the consequences. Spencer asks something of his teammates that could jeopardize the rest of their season. Simone is worried about Jordan and turns to his friends for help.

Blinsky tends to Roman's wounds at the White Tower. After leaving Nadia with Shelley, Annie confronts Olivia about her father's death.

With Spencer, Grace, Dillon and Darnell reeling from the news about why Corey may have left, they set out on a mission to find him. After locating Corey and trying to convince him to go home with them, the weekend turns out to be just what everyone needed. In an effort to keep fighting for the family to be whole again, Billy arranges for the family to meet with a family therapist and possibly help decide on the next step for them. During the session, the therapist gives Jordan and Olivia a separate assignment, which helps them learn more about each other than either knew.
