After the first practice, Brock tells the others how pathetic Jake was, not knowing how great of a time Jake had. Reba decides that they will improve his skills by getting Van to train him. Van, being emotional, doesn't want to because of memories of him with his dad. Barbra Jean, having played football as a girl and later coaching a woman's prison team, decides to coach Jake with Reba's help. When Jake finds out that he might be cut, he doesn't think Brock will still love him. Van finally agrees to help out and Jake makes the team - but not for long as he's banned for being too agressive!
