After noticing a strange phenomenon that men are attracted to women who barely talk, Riki and Kate decide to perform their own social experiment. On a double date, they make a pact to remain speechless for as long as they’re able to get away with it.

After attending her friend’s baby sprinkle, Riki is anxious that she’s becoming too old to conceive and plans a visit to a fertility doctor. Also, a therapist tells Kate that she has “Peter Pan Syndrome” and needs to grow up, leading her to question if she needs to make some drastic life changes.

Frustrated by a former beau who takes things too seriously, Riki becomes involved with a fellow comedian in the hopes that their senses of humor will be more of a match. Meanwhile, Kate has to audition for a movie role against a major star that’s outside of her comfort zone while also trying to figure out the most inconspicuous way to end a relationship.

A prince arrives at Bellacourt Manor at the invitation of the Commodore, prompting a spirited romantic rivalry between Lillian and Beatrice, but Peepers clashes with the royal servant over how to be a butler. Meanwhile, Hamish gets reading lessons in prison from his cellmate.

Lillian plans to marry an extremely old and wealthy man named Laverne; Hortense flirts with Laverne's handsome grandson Bertram; incriminating photos threaten Frederick's position as vice president.

Marriage annulments free Lillian and Beatrice from their matrimonial duties, though the former fights with Victor over their beloved Butternut Room, and the latter helps Albert conquer one of his fears. Meanwhile, Garfield clashes with a dishonest new servant.
