C&L and another detective are working on a case involving some illegal weapons. The catch is that the third detective has just had his picture turn up in a gay magazine. Is he gay? Will he be suspended before he helps C&L catch the bad guy?

Bolander has a relapse. The detectives sound off to the local news about the shooting. Apartment 201 is opened up and the occupant, Gordon Pratt, is a gun freak who once tried to be a cop. Russert and Howard declare a truce. They find the shooter, but lack of a weapon gets him released; later he is found with a bullet in his head.

When Higgins is involved in a dangerous accident, Magnum's investigation leads to a murder that occurred forty years ago in a Japanese internment camp.

Conned by an old friend, Magnum and TC agree to deliver a set of encyclopedias, not knowing that the knowledge contained within is a large marijuana drop.
