In the eye of their first album release, Griffin, the head of the record label, cancels the album, tour, and concert, forcing them to return to Minnesota, which threatens to break up their life-long friendships. James gets mad and he's got 3 record deal, and joins Hawk, Gustavo's Arch-Rival. Gustavo has to pay back to Griffin $2,000,000 to get back Big Time Rush, and to get them to come back and to finally perform concert. They come back to the LA, and they cannot stay in the Palmwoods again, so they all start living in the Rocque Records "RocqueWoods". James does not want to come back to Big Time Rush so they open an audition for the new James, but they can find anyone and James comes back and they prepare for the concert

The boys hold their annual prank-day contest and the girls at Palm Woods want to participate, so it soon becomes a battle of boys vs. girls. Meanwhile, an awry prank-themed day with Gustavo and Kelly escalates into minor destruction and some violence. Logan becomes Dr. Hollywood's assistant for the day after his eyes got hurt because his own prank backfired on him. At the end, the prank war ended with Kendall and Katie as the champions.

Jo was offered a role in a major motion picture that shoots in New Zealand for 3 years. However, she lies to Kendall, saying that she is incapable of doing the movie due to her "New Town High " contract. But when Kendall and Katie check Jo's New Town High contract, it states that ", if offered a role in a major motion picture, she can get out of her contract. Much to Kendall's guilt, he tries to get Jo to break up with him by acting disgusting on their date. Jo then decides to take the role after Kendall convinces her. After her limo leaves, the boys realize that Kendall and Jo forgot their signature "Goodbye Kiss." The boys rush to the airport just before Jo's plane leaves for a proper goodbye.

Big Time Rush has dropped their second album, and a TV program has the guys making revealing comments about their lives inside and outside the band.

Gustavo books the boys to a lot of painful TV show cameos, but they decide to do no more cameos, until they get booked for "Coco.0", a show Carlos loves and has a pretty main character, Dara Larameigh.

It's the Tween Choice Awards, and BTR's night is in jeopardy when the guys uncover an evil plan to brainwash the audience. Now BTR must find a way to defeat the bad guy, save the show, and still make sure their dreams come true.

Gordo is sure that Mr. Pettus is giving him ""B""s instead of ""A""s because Pettus doesn't like him. His state of mind isn't helped any when the teacher gives the class an aptitude test which shows that Gordo is best suited to be a blackjack dealer. To prove that Mr. Pettus has it in for him, Gordo convinces Lizzie to turn in his science project with her name on it and vice versa, which ends up having disasterous results. Also, Matt adopts a hip-hop attitude and insists that everyone call him ""M-Dogg.""

Big Time Rush and the Palm Woods kids get to hang out at Griffin's beach house for the day. Carlos and Logan hunt for buried treasure, James falls for a pretty girl who he suspects is a mermaid and Kendall and Jo's relationship hits the skids.

Big Time Rush are accused for scandals: Lucy Stone releases an album about a bad break-up with a guy who is rumored to be Kendall, Carlos tries to swat a bee and is accused by E! News for hitting grannies and Logan is accused for trying to rob a granny, which was really helping. Meanwhile, James spreads up a rumor about him doing a duet with Cher Lloyd.

During this episode, Mr. Bender has invited a special friend of his to come and show the class a new scooter called "Jet X". He has asked the whole class to get into groups and organize group commercials. He said the winning commercial will get aired on TV. 100 times. Chase, Michael, & Logan form a group, which Logan gets his dad's special equipment for his commercial and a celebrity. While Zoey, Dana, & Nicole begin fighting over the video, Zoey puts all their ideas together.

Quinn has a crush on a boy named Mark, but is too afraid to ask him out. She asks Zoey to ask him out for her, resulting in Quinn thinking she's going out with Mark. Zoey, worried that Quinn will find out that she's not really going out with Mark, asks Chase to go on a double date with her, Mark,and Quinn. Meanwhile, Dustin takes care of Elvis while the other boys are busy, even though he's afraid of animals.

The school dance committee implements an experimental personality-based partner selection process. So, Chase tries to get matched up with Zoey, and so he does whatever it takes to get matched up with her. But of course, his plan backfires when another guy gets matched up with her as well as him. Zoey must pick between Chase and Glen, the other guy. Chase is upset and tries to get Zoey to pick him.

It's the end of the semester and Zoey and her friends are excited for PCA's annual beach party but... they end up going to the wrong beach unsupervised. It turns out that they aren't at Mystic Beach (where the big PCA party is) and have no way of getting back. But, they throw their own party and Quinn works her magic and finds a way to go back home.

The boys are excited to head back to Minnesota for the holidays, but hours before their flight, Griffin, the head of the record label, insists on them recording a Christmas EP, and will not let them leave until it's done. So it looks like they will be spending their first Christmas away from home. After making the first song, Griffin told them the other two songs must be celebrity duets. Then Big Time Rush trying to do the duet with Miranda Cosgrove in Have a Miranda's little Christmas and another duet with Snoop Dogg. Meanwhile, Mrs. Knight attempts to pack up presents and clothes so she does not have to pay a luggage fee and Katie attempts to give a Scrooge-esque Mr. Bitters some holiday cheer.

Griffin orders a reality show about the guys' lives, complete with the audience voting to eliminate one member of BTR. To stay interesting, Carlos and James resort to non-stop fighting, Logan and Camille fake a melodramatic relationship, and Kendall attempts to unplug all the cameras once and for all after one catches him off-guard at the Palm Woods pool. In order to get the show cancelled and keep the group together, the boys must try to prove to Griffin that a reality show is a bad idea.

James buys a motorcycle to try to impress Lucy; Kendall teaches Jo how to drive a stick-shift; Carlos and Logan hold on to a childhood treasure (wood wagon).

Zoey begins life at PCA. She is nervous about the situation at first, but gets more comfortable when she meets her new friends; Dana, Quinn, Chase,Nicole, Logan, Michael. The girls and boys try to adjust to girls being allowed to attend PCA for the first time.

Prank Week, a PCA tradition where returning students prank new ones, has begun. The boys prank the girls multiple times, so the girls decide to prank the boys back (which violates tradition because new students are not supposed to do anything about it except getting pranked). The boys were supposed to keep a statue of the founder of PCA clean, so Zoey comes up with a prank and the girls put women's clothes on it. But when the son of PCA's founder sees it, he is very angry, and tells the girls that its going to be their last semester at PCA and that no more girls are going to PCA. So then after all the sadness from the girls, Zoey tries to figure out a way of how the girls can stay at PCA.

In this episode the gang is worn out from always running in gym class. Nicole keeps throwing up and is tired of it. To solve this, they decide to put together a disc golf team to keep them from doing gym class. Also, Michael is not happy with his weight due to him being addicted to chips, so he gets Quinn to solve his problem

When a school bully forces Dustin to do his homework for him, Zoey confronts the bully in public, embarrassing Dustin in the process and further enraging the bully. So Dustin decided that Zoey is babying him too much. He goes to Chase and Michael for advice and tries to tell Zoey that he can defend himself by his own. Meanwhile, Zoey, Nicole, Dana, Chase, and Michael try to hide their dog, Elvis away from their dorm advisor, since it's against school rules for having pets on campus. Logan did not appear in this episode.

When Nicole pays for a backpack she messed up at the bookstore, she is broke and calling the backpack stupid. But when Zoey re-designed the backpack using her ideas, Nicole likes it and keeps it. Later on, Zoey's backpack idea is stolen from a girl named, Stacy and she makes a lot of money. So then Zoey and the gang try to seek revenge on her.

The boys get a dose of reality when Kelly tells them they have to go to school at least four hours every day while they live in Los Angeles. While the boys want to go to the fun Palm Woods school, they learn that Gustavo has arranged to have their school located at the recording studio, so they are never far from his grip. The boys do whatever is necessary to take down the "School of Rocque" and go to the Palm Woods school. Meanwhile, an attempt from Mrs. Knight to home school Katie (Ciara Bravo) fails, so she tries to get Katie to act in a commercial to gain entrance in the Palm Woods, with the help of Mr. Bitters.

The boys must impress a well-known blogger, Deke whose words can control their career. They are going to be spending a "Day with Deke" very soon, so Gustavo hires people to train the boys to have a good "Day with Deke". When the interview starts, 5 minutes later, Deke writes a bad review, and the boys must figure out how to change his mind about them for a good review before he posts it through a series of traps. Meanwhile, Gustavo gets a "Scuttlebutter" account and sends out a Scutbut that he hate Brussels, the capital of Belgium. (He meant to type that he hates Brussel Sprouts)
