    ΚΩΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΟΥΠΟΛΗ στις αρχές του 19ου αι. Ο ΔΗΜΗΤΡΟΣ μιλά με τον Διευθυντή του, ο οποίος τον παρακινεί να ξαναπαντρευτεί. Το ίδιο βράδυ αποφασίζει να βρει σύζυγο και ζητά από την προξενήτρα ΚΟΝΑ ΑΝΝΙΚΑ να τον βοηθήσει. Εκείνη του συστήνει τη ΛΩΞΑΝΤΡΑ και, ύστερα από τη γνωριμία τους, αποφασίζουν να παντρευτούν.
