Karl working as an economist, and Nils working as a janitor for the same company, both end up getting fired at the same day. Karl's wife leaves him, and Nils, having no other place to live, moves in. Later on, Henry comes knocking at the door, and saves Karl from getting thrown out from his own home.

This way, Karl is permitted to borrow the cabin from Nils, unaware that Elna is planning to visit Nils in the hut.
