Tonight on MeTV- it wouldn’t be wise to place any bets on the outcome of this giant faceoff (especially since the outcome was available many years ago)- but you can bet on this: the old-school giant monster matchup from 1963-when two of the biggest monsters in horror history collided in an epic battle of building-flattening fury-is a real winner! See Japan's greatest horror export face off against the legendary giant ape who first thrilled America (in slightly different form!) in 1933-it's "King Kong VS Godzilla"!

Our viewers always request another look at how a master of creature creations decides to strike back at the heartless studio heads who have decided to show him the door- by bringing his monsters back, but with a twist-this time, it isn’t fear film fantasy- it’s for real, as he demonstrates “How to Make a Monster”!

How to Make a Monster (1958)

It’s a film that marked the end of an era- actually, two eras- tonight on MeTV when we present what was not only the last film in Hammer’s original Frankenstein series- but also the final time that the great Peter Cushing played Baron Frankenstein! A young doctor who idolizes the work of the original “body-builder” (you know what I mean) finds himself joining forces with the Baron to conduct new experiments in an asylum-where it sometimes seems like the inmates are running things. Curse of the Demon (1957)

Summertime … and the living’s easy. But the dying is even easier! Average American teenager Anton seems to have it all: 2 loving parents, 2 best friends and his crush Molly living right across the street. But he wakes up on Halloween morning with one small problem: a whole lot of people around him are dead or dying. Fast. And gruesomely. And Anton is increasingly losing control of his own right hand. Throw in a druidic high priestess, some local cops, his monster-truck driving neighbor Randy and more late-90s cameos than Being John Malkovich. Tonight, on MeTV - The Sven Squad along with The Man In The Hat himself – Svengoolie – are premiering 1999’s “Idle Hands” on House of Svengoolie.

Idle Hands (1999)

Tonight on MeTV- we bring back a hilarious haunting that many viewers have been requesting for quite a while- an Abbott and Costello vehicle, but NOT the one with Frankenstein! It’s also unique, with the boys not as a pair, but in separate roles. It all begins during the Revolutionary War and ends with ghosts plaguing a mansion in modern day (if your modern day is 1946) in an attempt to free their spirits from this earthly realm. This ghost story sets Lou Costello, as one of the earthbound spirits, against an ancestor of a colonial rat (both played by Bud Abbott) who's partially responsible for his fate- guaranteeing both the “Time of Their Lives”!

The Time of Their Lives (1946)

Tonight on MeTV- it’s a super-sized summer sensation -as we bring back a sort of “beach party” movie- minus the beach- featuring some MeTV actors, a favorite singer pal of ours, some colossal cuties and super-sized studs- in a crazy sci fi dramedy from the mind of Bert I. Gordon, king of oversized menace movies! It all begins when a familiar–looking boy genius cooks up a formula transferring a small town into BIG trouble by converting it into the “Village of the Giants”!

Village of the Giants (1965)

Tonight, on MeTV - The Sven Squad – Gwengoolie, Nostalgiaferatoo and IMP aka Ignatius Malvolio Prankenstein along with The Man In The Hat himself – Svengoolie – are premiering 1982’s “Swamp Thing” on House of Svengoolie.

Swamp Thing (1982)

Hardly a week goes by that, at the very least, one viewer will sadly admit that they miss the beloved series that aired weekly late night on our “Super Sci Fi Saturday Night” featuring the intrepid and somewhat rumbled reporter whose beat was the supernatural. There is reason to rejoice for all those fans who feel the same way-because tonight on MeTV- we have the origin story of that favorite reporter character who somehow always ends up pursuing the truth about something deadly from the realm of the unbelievable. It’s the made-for-TV movie that introduced us to Carl Kolchak, who’s out to convince authorities that they are dealing with a Vegas vampire- “The Night Stalker”!

The Night Stalker (1972)

Tonight on MeTV- get a look at a new hero walking in the footsteps of Dr. Van Helsing- that Hammer originally thought would begin a new series of adventures of “Captain Kronos- Vampire Hunter”!

Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1974)

A carnival performer becomes a deadly menace in what is considered to be Lon Chaney Jr.’s very first entry into true horror films. See how a cruel and devious scientist uses Lon’s incredible tolerance for electrical current to transform him into the “Man-Made Monster”!

Man Made Monster (1941)

This land is your land this land is … dino’s land?! Commander Alan Roberts is just your average US Navy commander taking his small helicopter crew on an exploratory mission into Antarctica to study oddly warm waters for the region. Pilot and geophysicist Lt. Jack Carmen is at the helm … or yoke … or whatever they use to fly a helicopter along with trusty machinist Steve Miller (the machinist one, not the musician one). Margaret Hathaway is the intrepid reporter along for the ride and hoping to get the story of her life. Ask and you shall receive Maragaret! Because your helicopter takes an unplanned trip to an unknown land right there in Antarctica that’s full of prehistoric dinosaurs, tropical plants, and a mad scientist named Hunter (not the Fred Dryer one) who hasn’t seen people in a really, really long time. Tonight, on MeTV - The Sven Squad are premiering 1957’s “The Land Unknown” on House of Svengoolie.

The Land Unknown (1957)

The Raven (1935)

Tonight on MeTV- we bring back a triple-play of terror in the legendary Dan Curtis production that stars Karen Black-playing the lead character in each segment of the anxiety-filled anthology that many have called the most frightening made-for-TV movie of all time- “Trilogy of Terror”! This 1975 film is a tour de frightening force, based on three stories by horror master Richard Matheson, with the final segment reaching true cult status for its overly effective effigy of a warrior!

Trilogy of Terror (1975)

Tonight on MeTV-it’s beyond belief when alien forces take over human earthling hosts as slaves to help accomplish their secret mission- with only one man immune to their control who can battle their mission of conquest! Discover the truth behind why “They Came from Beyond Space”!

They Came from Beyond Space (1967)

Tonight on MeTV- we bring back a landmark science fiction film of the 1950s- with “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea” star David Hedison becoming the victim of his amazing scientific breakthrough- with Vincent Price trying to uncover the truth about “The Fly”!

The Fly (1958)

Yes, it’s back again tonight on MeTV- and, for those of you asking, “why again?”- this is the horror/comedy that comes in, neck and neck, with “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein” as perhaps the most requested movie our viewers demand to see. The man known for playing one of Mayberry’s best-known public servants plays the nervous hero who must endure a night in a house where a notorious murder took place and that is now labelled as haunted! Solving the mystery of the horrific event that took place requires him to stay there overnight– which could either land him his dream job as a newspaper reporter – and win him the lovely woman of his dreams- or land him in the middle of a real nightmare- caught between ghost troubles and legal woes. Don Knotts shivers his way through the 1966 classic- "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"!

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966)

Hmmm, I feel like I’ve seen this movie somewhere before … That’s because tonight’s film is a remake of George Romero’s 1968 groundbreaking horror film “Night Of The Living Dead”! Barbara and her brother are just trying to visit their deceased mother’s grave when they discover … the undead! Barbara ends up seeking shelter in a farmhouse with gentle giant Ben, a well to do family of 3, a teenage couple, and more zombies than you can shake a pitchfork at. As the living attempt to fend off the dead, they discover what brings out the worst in both. Who will make it until sunrise when hopefully the authorities can arrive? Tune and find out tonight, on MeTV as The Sven Squad – Gwengoolie, Nostalgiaferatoo and IMP aka Ignatius Malvolio Prankenstein along with The Man In The Hat himself – Svengoolie – are premiering 1990’s “Night Of The Living Dead” on House of Svengoolie.

Night of the Living Dead (1990 )

The Sven Squad and I travel somewhere over that rainbow for “The Wizard of Oz”

Do I really need to sum up the great 1939 classic story of a young girl who finds herself transported by a twister to a faraway land inhabited by little people, witches good and bad, and three loyal companions? We meet Dorothy Gale and her farm-hand friends, as well as her uncle and Auntie Em- but they have a run-in with the nasty Miss Gultch, who’s out to have Dorthy’s little dog Toto put away!

The Wizard of Oz (1939)

The Sven Squad takes a crack at a movie I’ve shown before- “The Invisible Man Returns”! Vincent Price is an innocent man framed for murder- who turns to the brother of Griffin, the original Invisible Man and begs him to make him invisible so he can escape and prove his innocence. This 1940 film costars Cedric Hardwicke as the evil head of a mining operation who has had a deadly hand in what has transpired.

The Invisible Man Returns (1940)

Our Halloween BOO-Nanza double feature this week brings us to England- once for an insane inheritance- and once for big top terror- as we go from that clown of a creature Herman Munster to murderous mayhem for ringmistress Joan Crawford- it’s “Munster Go Home” followed by “Berserk!”

Munster, Go Home! (1966)

Berserk (1967)

Tonight’s "BOO-nanza" double feature involves alien take-overs in both movies- one through some perilous pods, and the other from large-forehead potential conquerors! It’s the thrilling combination of the original "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and "This Island Earth"!

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)

Right after that- the Sven Squad takes over with their take of a science fiction classic that I have previously shown- "This Island Earth"! This 1955 film begins with a strange green ray saving a disabled aircraft- and its pilot, atomic scientist Cal Meacham getting some electronic parts that are unbelievably advanced- and like nothing ever seen before! Then comes a mysterious set of plans to build a communication device- that picks up a message that Cal is requested to join an elite scientific group.

This Island Earth (1955)

First up- we pick up the story of the late Larry Talbot- who was put out of his misery in the original “Wolf Man” -only to return to it when grave robbers accidentally expose him to the full moon’s light!

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943)

“Revenge of the Creature” (yes, I’ve run it before- and, yes, that was the movie I ran in 3 D locally in Chicago in the 80s). The Squad has it in amazing 2 D- with an expedition back to the Black Lagoon after rumors surface that the Gill Man has survived the happenings of the original “Creature from the Black Lagoon” film. O

Revenge of the Creature (1955)

Tonight on MeTV- we conclude this month’s Halloween BOO-nanza with a final double feature-an encore of “Wizard of Oz”

The supposedly happy event of Sally moving into a charming old house with her husband takes a nasty turn- when she goes into the basement and sees a bricked-up fireplace. She’s thinking of unbricking the hearth and having an office down there- but her handyman warns against it, without specifying why.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973)

Young Frankenstein (1974)

The host Svengoolie talks about various horror movies while showing the movies, one per episode, and gives an introduction to them and performs an act during the commercial breaks. One of the constant tropes is that he will ask a question, then cut back to the movie in a way that looks like the character is answering that question. He also does a deep dive on the early careers of the major actors, and also what has happened to them since then.
