Seven food trucks hit Charleston, S.C., and Chef Kardea Brown shows no mercy as she judges their attempts at Gullah Geechee dishes. Then, host Tyler Florence releases the teams to sell on the wild streets of Charleston, revealing who's ready for the hard sell and who falls way short. Finally, facing torrential rains, Chef Rodney Scott brings his signature BBQ to the teams to see who can make a dish worthy of a real pitmaster.

In the second challenge, the teams must impress New Orleans Celebrity Chef Susan by creating a dish inspired by the popular Hurricane drink. One team is eliminated and six make it closer to the finish line and the grand prize of $50,000.

The remaining five trucks arrive in Tuscaloosa, Ala. to find Tyler Florence and pastry chef Jan Moon waiting for them with a challenge: to crack the most pecans in just 15 minutes. The teams must then use their pecans in a dessert dish to sell on their trucks, with the winner receiving valuable mentoring time with Jan and the team that makes the most profits winning $200. On the second day in Tuscaloosa, Tyler challenges the cooks to a happy hour: for one hour, the pecan dishes will be sold for $1 only, and the team with the overall lowest sales will be out of the competition.

It's payback time as host Tyler Florence brings the trucks to Wilmington, N.C., and two teams with a serious beef attempt to settle the score. Meanwhile, another team gets shut down by county officials, jeopardizing their chances of staying in the race. All the trucks fight to win a breakfast challenge worth $15,000 in reward money, and this week's eliminated team gets served an ice-cold plate of revenge.

Host Tyler Florence kicks off the finale with the two winningest teams in Great Food Truck Race history competing in a sales frenzy, feeding the sailors of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier in port at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia. After the sailors are fed, the trucks move to town, and one team misses the perfect sell spot by just a few feet, with unforeseen consequences. In the final challenge, one team proves they've truly outperformed the rest, but it all comes down to sales to see who will win $50,000 and the title of Great Food Truck Race champion.
