While Nina tries to hide how far along she is in her pregnancy, Bent tries to come up with names for the baby. An old friend of the Matron is admitted, but he doesn't want the Matron to know.

But her happiness is short-lived, as Ms. Madsen intervenes to send Marie back to the radium department, where her health begins to deteriorate. Bjørn goes to extreme measures to help her. Birgit is ready to return to work as a stewardess, but things don't go according to plan. And Ruth feels passed over, while the Matron starts to question whether she made the right decision.
