Peter and Ester have destroyed Helga's last will, that would have placed Nina in charge of DK. However, Nina doesn't give up that easy. Nina and Calle reconsiles, but Calle's conscience rankles: should he tell her about his cheating with Sonja? The police suspects Angelo for the murder of Ragnarsson. Stickan wants to cook the dinner for Helga's funeral, but either Calle or Ethel thinks that he can manage it. Britt has both good and bad news for Maggan. Gustaf sweats - will he testify for the assembly about his addiction and homosexuality?

John has escaped the police. He contacts Christina and Moa-Li and wants them to run away to Spain with him. Uno, however, suspects something is going on. Peter is considering accepting the offer from his arch enemy Mirko. Nina, meanwhile, feels betrayed by Calle, having opened up her heart again. Astrid is on her deathbed and gives Gustaf her blessing - in more ways than one. Maggan receives a surprising offer from the highest authority.

Ninas addiction has got disastrous consequences. The fight between Gustaf and Peter about the domination of the restaurant drives with dirty means. Ester takes a bigger room in Peters life. Maggan candidates to chairman in the labour union, but has strong forces against herself. Calle's work at Djurgårdskällaren takes a dramatical turn.

1957, Peter and Ester tries to maneuver Nina out of DK Club, but a person from the past shows up and upends Peter's life. Nina's daughter Christina wants to move up to Stockholm and live with her mother, but will her father approve? Calle is chef at DK since a year back. It hasn't really been as he thought. Gustaf works at DK again, and the question is if it is Gustaf that is Bellan's boss or the other way around. Maggan gets an offer that can lead up to big changes for her and Uno.

As the restaurant’s about to close for the season, Calle and Sonja's marriage is cracking at the seams, while Nina sinks into depression, despite Helga and Backe’s help.

Stockholm, december 1955. Restaurant DK goes amazing and everything should be alright, but the Löwander family is divided. After a traumatical occurrance the matriarch Helga makes a new attempt to unite the family. Will Gustaf take the extended hand? Peter's wife Ester tries to increase dissatisfaction between the siblings Peter and Nina. Nina gives Calle an anticipated christmas gift, and Maggan gets an unwelcomed visit from the past...

1956, Henriette Winter is the new copartner of DK. Peter and Ester are working on solutions to get rid of her. Gustaf takes up the fight against DK with his new restaurant Oscarshof. Nina and Calle are searching for the right moment to tell Helga she is going to be a grandmother. Chef Backe are getting more and more paranoid, which goes out beyond Calle. Angelo is in the claws of Ragnarsson, but gets help from Maggan.

Helga has suffered from a stroke and her children fears the worst. Peter and Ester starts to plan how the future for the restaurant will be if Helga passes away, but unforseen events puts their plan at an end. The Social Democrats awaits the election results at DK while Nina's daughter Christina is visiting. Nina is stressed and takes it out on Calle, who seeks comfort from an unexpected direction. Ragnarsson threatens Angelo's family and Angelo is taking drastic measures.

Stockholm 1950. The recent years has implied dramatical changes for the Löwander family. Nina and Erik have got a little daughter and Nina lives a quiet life as housewife. But everything is not as perfect as it seems. Peter has started an affair with Ester, and works as a lawyer. A love in he past shows up. Gustaf works alone as restaurant keeper, but Peter and Helga opposes against his plans. The conflict between the brothers comes to life, stronger than ever. Chef Backe has an accident and Calle takes the chance as reserv. Maggan revolts against the geezers in the labour union.

Helga, Peter and Nina tries to convince Gustaf to not sell his part of DK to Henriette Winter. Gustaf reflects of investing all of his assets on Oscarshof - but can he trust his partner? Nina has had several of miscarriages and both she and Calle worries for it to happen again. Chef Backe tries a hearing aid, but is it enough to get back the hold of the kitchen staff? The Italian youth Angelo starts in the washing up and gets to work hard.

After the catastrophe with Oscarshof, Gustaf is disappeared without a trace. Has he killed himself? Henriette Winter has decided to sell her part in DK, and a battle between Peter and Nina breaks out, as regards to who of the two that will buy it. Helga is forced to choose side in the conflict between Stickan and Calle. Grudgingly, Bellan gives Angelo the opportunity to work in the dining room instead of in the washing up - will he manage to show Bellan that he can make it?

September 1962. Calle and Nina have been doing their food program on TV for five years, and it tears on their relationship. Maggan makes a successful entry as a speaker in the electoral movement, but it is not appreciated by everyone. Gustaf and Astrid have found a guiding star in their lives. Chef Backe shows up as a guest in the restaurant - will he and Helga reconcile? Angelo has advanced to head waiter, but is threatened again by Ragnarsson.

Peter and Suzanne are telling news that shakes the family. Peters conflict with the gangster Ragnarsson culminates, with big consequences. Gustaf risks more than prison. Nina's and Calle's secret relationship puts at edge. Helga asks Peter of a huge favor and Maggan brings home her son Uno from fostercare. But is it the right decision?

Peter is taking over as restaurant keeper when Gustaf is arrested. Ragnarsson is blackmailing Peter by threatening Suzanne. The restaurants future are being put at play. Calle makes a bad decision regarding Nina. Chef Backe shows unknown sides. Maggan's and Lilly's relationship are getting more intimated, but threatens.

Suzanne's debacle leads to a lot of consequences, both to Peter and the restaurant. The conflict between Gustaf and Maggan puts at edge when the help comes from an unexpected direction. Calle is forced to make a decision: to follow his heart or to take responsibility. Helga is pushing Nina to do what the convention requires and Gustaf plays his cards when Peter is weak and vulnerable.

Calle and Nina pushes through an Italian food week at DK. Gustaf and Bellan squabbles about instructing Angelo the nobility of the serverland. Peter is seeing the love of his life Suzanne behind Ester's back - but Ester starts to suspect that he is hiding something. Maggan gets an invite for dinner at the couple Gahn, and is afraid that she will make a fool of herself.

Peter stands in front of a decisive choice: will he leave his family and the restaurant to live together with the love of his life Suzanne? Angelo resigns from the restaurant, but doesn't want to tell why. Gustaf is seeking treatment for his sexual impulsions. Calle gets an opportunity to make a TV program about food, and Nina encourages him to accept. Calle himself is sceptical. Maggan quits to become Mayor secretary for Britt Gahn.

Stockholm 1946. Nina and Erik are celebrating their engagement with a crayfish party in the archipelago. Calle becomes involuntary responsible for the food. Gustaf reveals Suzanne's secret to Peter. Gustaf fires Maggan because of her involvement in the labour union and Helga gets on a collision course with Nina's future mother-in-law.

As the Löwander family is preparing to open their restaurant, Nina meets Calle again for the first time since she tried to take her own life.

Nina visits Erik and Christina in Skåne, but it’s not a harmonious reunion. Helga suspects that something happened between Nina and Calle on Midsummer's Eve.

Everything hangs on a thin thread. Peter and Nina are fighting for the restaurants survival. Maggan gets tired of how the staff at the restaurant are treated and starts to fight for her rights. Gustaf is released from custody and is tracking Suzanne's painful secret. Calle finally gets the chance to show what he can do in the kitchen, but will he cope with the challenge? Calle's and Nina's love faces a fateful crossroad.

Peter and the other staff prepare the midsummer celebration at the summer restaurant. Nina and Calle are colleagues but, beneath the surface, deeper feelings burn.

Gustaf and Helga arranges a 50 year anniversary at Djurgårdskällaren to speed up the business. But Nina has another solution. She defies her brother and starts jazz evenings in the banquet hall. Peter confronts Gustaf about the restaurants catastrophic economi. Nina and Calle are dating in secret. Nina is annoyed when Calle gets in a fight with one of her friends.

Peter Löwander comes home from the preparedness and has a jewish refugee with him, Suzanne Goldstein. Helga, the head of the family, dissaproves but remains silent. Nina's and Calle's roads are crossed once again. Gustaf covers up the restaurants catastrophal economi and shallow dealings, but the brother, Peter, starts to understand that something is wrong.

John and the leftist gang are keeping Christina prisoner at the farm house. She tries to find an opportunity to escape, while Uno and the police are planning to move in on the farm. Nina's nightclub is near bankruptcy and Nina is starting to consider the offer from Mirko to buy her out. Or can she and Peter find a way to leave their differences behind and join forces? The difficult times for Nina's bring Nina and Calle closer together, but then Calle gets a very tempting offer from Angelo.
