    #1 - Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed

    Season 1 Episode 10 - Aired 7/1/1999

Larry-Boy and the Rumor Weed is the 12th episode in the VeggieTales animated series, and the second installment of the LarryBoy adventures. It was released in July 1999 on VHS formats and January 28, 2003 on DVD formats. Subtitled "A Lesson in the Power of Words", it illustrates how destructive false rumors or negative words can be, and conversely, how positive words can do good. It is a mild parody of Little Shop Of Horrors. Unlike other episodes with the VeggieTales Theme Song at the start, this is one of the episodes without Bob the Tomato and the countertop segments. Marc Vulcano, the animation supervisor for the film had just joined Big Idea Productions from Sierra On-Line, Inc. This video was the last VeggieTales production to be rendered entirely in Softimage.

#2 - King George and the Ducky

    Season 1 Episode 11 - Aired 4/1/2000

King George And The Ducky is the 13th episode in the VeggieTales animated series. It was released in April 11, 2000 on VHS, and on May 20, 2003 on DVD. Subtitled "A lesson about... Selfishness", it teaches viewers that they must think of others before themselves. The message is conveyed through a story based on the Biblical account of David and Bathsheba from Second Samuel. Although the VeggieTales adaptation remains relatively true to the source, Bathsheba is represented by a rubber duck, thus replacing the sin of adultery with the less difficult crime of theft. But the essence of the story remains intact as the King covets something belonging to his neighbor and takes it for his own and the selfish act is later condemned by a wiseman/prophet. The subsequently released Duke and the Great Pie War is a prequel to this episode. This was the first episode to use the Maya animation package instead of Softimage.

    #3 - Esther

    Season 1 Episode 14 - Aired 9/1/2000

Esther... The Girl Who Became Queen is the 14th episode in the VeggieTales animated series. Subtitled "A Lesson in Courage", it conveys the message that you do not need to be afraid to do what is right. The story is taken from the Book of Esther in the Old Testament, in which Esther becomes Queen and must tell King Xerxes that his prime minister Haman is plotting to commit genocide against the Jews. The violent undertones are, of course, removed for this VeggieTales production; murder is replaced by banishment to the "Island of Perpetual Tickling", and the intended victims are limited to Esther and her family without reference to their race or creed. The presentation of the story was inspired by The Godfather and Casablanca and has stylistic elements of a Film noir. The dramatic lighting, deep shadows, dark plot elements, and narrative voiceovers all contribute to the effect. The palace windows are even hung with Venetian blinds, an iconic element of the genre. This is one of a few episodes that spurn the usual VeggieTales format: there are no opening or closing countertop sequence with "VeggieTales Theme" and "What We Have Learned" songs, or Silly Songs with Larry. The video features the only appearance of the Esther Veggie character who was expensive to render, due to the complexity of her hair, and the character has not returned. This is also the only episode that is narrated by a non-VeggieTales character and is the only video in which Bob the Tomato does not appear.

#5 - Larryboy The Cartoon Adventures: The Angry Eyebrows

    Season 1 Episode 17 - Aired 3/19/2002

The creators of the sensational 3-D computer-animated series VeggieTales transport their goofiest character--Larryboy--into the traditional world of 2-D line-drawing animation for a new Christian-lite comedy series. In this first episode, Larryboy (the superhero alter ego of Larry the Cucumber) takes on the dastardly Awful Alvin, who has made sure any angry citizen of Bumblyburg stays angry thanks to his legions of batlike eyebrows. The gentle lesson of letting go of anger is massaged with the typical VeggieTales high jinks. Many of the well-known VeggieTales stars make appearances; Bob the Tomato is editor of the newspaper where Larry is not a Clark Kent-like reporter but rather a janitor. Also included is the silent short "Fly by Night," in which Larryboy takes on a pesky fly.

The Wonderful World of Auto-Tainment! is the 19th episode in the VeggieTales series. It was released on May 20, 2003 on DVD and VHS. It is a variety show in which the Veggies sing songs from various sing-along albums in a format that conforms to Larry's idea of what the future of entertainment will be like. In Larry's estimation, entertainment will be fully automated. Using devices such as the "Wheel of Veggies" and the "Swarming Balls of Disorder", random performers will be paired with random musical numbers. Even jokes will be randomly generated. This was the only VeggieTales video not to have a central moral theme, and the first VeggieTales episode to be made by Big Idea after its acquisition by Classic Media in mid-2003.

The episode contains two main features. The first is a parody of Robert Louis Stevenson's novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The second is the story of a small whimsical creature called a Snoodle who is suffering through a crisis of self-esteem. The narration is done in the style of Dr. Seuss, deftly capturing his iconic cadence, rhyme schemes, nonsense phraseology, and fanciful sense of place with the overall theme closely following the story of the Wemmick "Punchinello" in Max Lucado's book You Are Special!. This episode was the first to be animated by Starz.
