Bec and Matt's dinner proves to be a night of highs and lows for the four friends as they navigate very different romantic entanglements. Frances still has no clue how Zach feels about her dating his dad, Sophie is worried that Doug is distancing himself from her, and Jenny is falling hard for Rhys, despite opinions about his genuineness. Meanwhile, Bec tries to put the tension from the last few weeks behind them. For one of these women, the end of the night brings a shocking conclusion.

Zach organises a weekend away with Frances and Jonathan to discuss a strategy for their next big pitch. But with Sophie tagging along at the last minute, work takes a back seat as the foursome enjoy some fun and relaxation. Meanwhile, with Mrs Gross's impending surgery on everyone's mind, the Gross family are struggling, and when Jenny's sister Deidre arrives, disagreements and old tensions resurface. Plus, Doug's surprised to learn that Bec still holds a joint bank account with Matt.

Mrs Gross's surgery is a success and Jenny is forced to revisit her promise to God that if her mum got better she'd give her money away. Meanwhile, Doug is offered a job in London, but now that Doug's single, Sophie wonders if the timing's right for them to be together. Also, Matt doesn't want to make the same mistake twice and is eager to tie the knot, so when Mrs Gross is given the all clear and Sophie shows her supports for Matt, Bec decides that they should get married tomorrow. But when the time arrives, can they go through with it?

The couples are loved-up and looking forward to Jenny's big weekend away but things don't go to plan. There's the issue of Jenny being broke and the bigger issue that she hasn't told the girls. Bec worries about the Matt and Doug dynamic in the confined spaces of a holiday house. Frances' going away plans are snagged before she's even left when Jasmine is nearly arrested. Sophie wants to celebrate becoming a doctor and enjoy her last days of freedom before the grown-up medical world descends. Meanwhile, the Gross's first weekend alone in a long time goes from bad to worse with the arrival of Jasmine, then Bridget and Wes and finally, Nana Dot.

Sophie is keen to take her mind off her upcoming hearing with the hospital board, but in doing so, makes a bad situation worse and must face some uncomfortable truths about her own behaviour. When Bec discovers a forgotten sketchbook, which holds plans and designs for their ideal home, she feels it's the perfect time to finally get their dream house under way. But there is a secret that threatens to shatter Bec's dreams irrevocably.

Jenny feels uncomfortable about asking Glenn to attend the naming day, not wanting to upset Bec and Carolyn. Patrick remains suspicious about Jen's new man, but after a frosty dinner confrontation, he promises to make an effort - and urges Jenny to bring Glenn to the big day. Meanwhile, Frances faces a parenting dilemma when Jasmine asks her permission for Ollie to sleep over. Meanwhile, Sophie and Frances face unexpected obstacles in their relationships as each of the girls learn the truth about their perfect match. As she assists Shannon after his assault, Frances remains blissfully unaware that he's developing romantic feelings for her - but not for long.

The girls grapple with jealousy issues at Patrick's 21st party. Sophie's still fighting her feelings for Doug so when he invites Carla to Patrick's 21st, she brings her own date to make him jealous.

The pressure builds on Frances as Shannon's committal hearing looms. Sophie struggles with Doug and Carla being a couple. When she lets her frustrations show, it leads Doug to reveal the truth about their past to Carla. Bec's anger about Matt and Tiffany's affair is bubbling away with nowhere to go. Flynn's inept efforts to woo Sam force her to realise she does indeed have feelings for him lurking behind her tough facade. Anxiety simmers at the Gross house in the wake of Mrs Gross' decision to invite Anna to family roast night.
