After Corrigan drops Detective O'Brien's niece Jennifer off at a jewellery store to buy a gift for her uncle's 25th anniversary in the force, the store is hit by a pair of armed robbers, and in the robbery Jennifer is gunned down. With the only lead being the hi-tech gun used by one of the thieves, Corrigan feels responsible for Jennifer's death, and the investigation is hampered by a television news reporter eager for a story. Meanwhile, one of the murderous robbers gets a taste for the fame that the shooting brings him, and plans to make a play for the determined reporter...

Latham will only return Chrissie if Hooker finds the whereabouts of his family, who cut contact with him and disappeared while he was serving time...

A renowned psychic is teamed up with Hooker to find the whereabouts of a kidnapped young girl, using visions of the girl's whereabouts that the woman keeps seeing; but even before the pair have met, the she keeps having a recurring dream about Hooker's death. Hooker has little belief in the woman's psychic abilities and how they can help locate the young girl, and is even more sceptical about her visions of his fate; but the more the pair work together, the more the woman's visions become realised - and the closer Hooker's predicted fate looms to come true...

Responding to the latest in a string of rape muggings on women using automatic teller machines, Hooker finds that the latest victim is Episcopal female priest Beth Harrison, an old acquaintance. Although terrified, she agrees to testify when Hooker and the team nab the culprit, but the attacker cunningly goes to church to give confession about the rape to her, leaving Beth sticking to her sworn vow of silence over confessions and thus refusing to give testimony. Hooker tries to convince her to go against her beliefs and testify, or else the rapist will be free back on the streets and strike again...

Hooker's investigation into a series of gristly murders by a pair of religious crazies is accompanied by Sergeant Leigh Stockwell, a close, old friend, whom is somewhat his protégé. But Stacy becomes suspicious that Leigh is using cocaine, an addiction which not only jeopardises the case and Leigh's job, but also Hooker's life...

The pursuit and capture of a criminal reunites Hooker with Officer Karen Remy, whom have previously been romantically involved with each other, but soon after, Hooker is informed that Karen is dead after being shot in her car. With the murder having signs of being a professional hit, Hooker becomes determined to find the person responsible, and his prime suspect is Karen's Police partner. His disobeying orders by continuing to probe the killing sees Hooker suspended, but that's not enough for him to give up the hunt – but is there more to the case than he knows?...

Responding to a shooting at a cock-fight in China Town, Hooker thinks he catches a glimpse of a face from the past in the crowd. But now, the man is involved with the gun dealing, and sees that he has an old score to settle with Hooker...

The State Department asks Hooker's help in tracking down a man whom he served alongside in Vietnam - a disillusioned, mentally unstable trained executioner – who is planning to assassinate the head of a visiting Russian trade delegation...

When a female attorney is murdered by a shotgun-wielding killer, the third woman attorney to be killed in similar such fashion, Hooker, Stacy and Corrigan search out the killer - who is actually a man who's become embittered after his girlfriend was deemed mentally unstable and dropped from attorney school...

While in pursuit of a pair of burglars who brutally attack anyone who interrupts their robberies, Corrigan pulls unconscious Stacy from their patrol car when it crashes, moments before it explodes. With the hunt on for the violent thieves, Stacy and Corrigan's ordeal brings them much closer together than ever before– something that begins to affect their working relationship, and sees Hooker injured due to their distracted states...

A friendly LCPD baseball game is interupted by a shooting, when a passing man, out for a walk with his daughter, is shot in an attempted execution. The wounded man is none other than Russ Paterno, a retired mobster who is now an informant and has been helping the F.B.I. With the valuable information Paterno continues provide them, the Feds are eager to keep him alive, and ask Hooker make sure no harm comes to him. Behind the shooting, and several similar executions, is a militant, right-wing paramilitary group called P.F.A.D.W. - ""People For A Decent World"", who's maniacal leader is determined to wipe out any and every individual he sees as responsible for bringing the world down...

Saving a teenage girl high on drugs from jumping off the high-school roof, Hooker is concerned that there is a new supplier of PCP on the streets that is dealing to the students. When a rookie officer is badly wounded while undercover trying to stop the suppliers, Hooker is determined to get to the root of the operation and put the dealers behind bars...

Hooker, Romano, Stacy and Corrigan are staking out a small-time drug dealer when they find that a major drug supplier is involved – who is being staked out in a Federal investigation. Hooker is ordered to keep well away from anything to do with the Fed operation and any of the smaller dealers which may be involved with the drug ring, something which proves to be difficult and results in Hooker being suspended. Hooker, Corrigan and Stacy are working undercover on a pimp sting when they respond to an armed robbery alert at a nearby bank, and the ensuing shootout as the robbers escape sees an Officer fatally wounded and dying in Stacy's arms. The hunt is on for the murderous gang, who are already putting their next bank robbery plan into motion, but Stacy's performance begins to suffer as she is over-come by fear that she will be the gang's next victim...

After arresting a teenager who's been left to take the rap for a murder by his fellow gang members, Hooker discovers that the youth is hearing impared. Convinced of the boy's innocence and that his membership in the gang is a cry for help, Hooker and Romano try to help the youth's hearing problems and to root out the real culprits behind the drugs-related killing.
