The BBQ teams travel from Cape Town to the Felix Unite River Camp on the Orange River where they must paddle downstream to their first challenge: a three course Braai of their choice before sunset.

The fourteen remaining BBQ teams travel to Lambert's Bay where they enjoy a gourmet West Coast lunch. Their challenge for the day then becomes to recreate the lunch in only two hours on the Braai!

Twelve teams remain as they move to Cape Town's Table Bay Hotel for the next challenge. The contestants are split into three groups to recreate Executive Chef Dallas Orr's intricate 5-star dinner menu on the BBQ for special gusts of the hotel.

The Last 12

The Hout Bay Harbor, one of the richest fishing grounds in South Africa, is where the remaining eleven teams try hand line fishing & Snoek BBQ. The elimination challenge takes a dramatic turn in front of the Wall of Fire in Mzolis, Gugulethu.

The teams travel to Matjiesfontein, a small Karoo town to butcher & BBQ a full lamb for 50 dinner guests. Rain complicates things & the teams are sent immediately into their elimination challenge: the perfect lamb chop.

After traveling to Cape St. Francis, the teams spend all day fishing for squid. After sunset, the teams need to recreate their Calamari & Chips lunch on the BBQ. The next day, the three bottom teams make burgers for their elimination challenge.

Elimination Challenge

The perfect campsite BBQ is the challenge as soon as the teams arrive to Morgan Bay, known for the best campsites. With no time to rest, the elimination challenge happens on the car engine blocks as the teams travel to their next destination.

Eight remaining teams travel to a Transkei village to learn to forage. After enjoying a night of partying they must BBQ a traditional village feast. The elimination challenge finds the bottom teams recreating the judge's seafood dish in 30 minutes.

With only six teams remaining, the Ultimate Braai Master travels to Kwa-Zulu Natal where the contestants have to complete a scavenger hunt through the Markets of Durban. The resulting Elimination challenge is one of the most challenging yet.

Markets of Durban

The Rawdons Hotel in the Natal Midlands hosts the tenth challenge. The midlands are known for fly-fishing, cattle & the best pub grub in the country. Each team must BBQ a pub meal for 25 people. The winning team gets immunity for the next challenge.

The teams travel to the Maluti Mountains in the Golden Gate National Park while the teams that didn't gain immunity are split into two groups for the challenge. They must make two goat potjies & lamb and chicken skewers "sosaties" for 35 guests.

The final three teams compete in Sun City for the grand prize. The final challenge is a full eight hours of unexpected twist & turns in front of their fires, and the winners are named the Ultimate Braai Master!

The Finals

The top fifteen teams to come out of the grueling auditions travel to the Hilltop Resort in the Hluhluwe Nature Reserve in Zululand. Judges Bertus Basson and Marthinus Ferreira watch as the teams compete in their first challenge for the title.

Three Course River Braai

The fourteen remaining teams travel to Sodwana Bay in Kwazulu Natal for a deep sea fishing challenge. After a long day on the water the teams return for a quick challenge that results in a double elimination.

West Coast Fare

In the heart of the Kingdom of Zulu, the remaining teams compete in an emotional challenge that ends in four teams facing elimination. Jozini Dam is the premier tiger fishing destination in the world, & the teams must catch one before sundown.

Five Star Braai

Only ten teams move on to the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains. The competitors are tasked with a four-course meal for 80 guests in only four hours. Many crack under the pressure as the judges have two teams compete in the first Inferno Challenge.

The Kraaifontein Crocodile

Chief's Boma at the Indaba Hotel in Johannesburg is the backdrop for a hectic 150-diner challenge where contestants have two hours of prep & one hour of service to make boerie rolls & burgers. The judges require a redemption challenge for three teams.

Butcher's Block

The teams embark on a two-day horseback ride into the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. They must prepare a snout-to-tail for a village of forty & the judges. They stay the night in the village & ride back to the lodge before hearing the challenge results.

Cape St. Francis

The teams arrive in the picturesque town of Rhodes in the Eastern Cape Highlands. As beautiful as it is, the elements prove a challenge during three knockout challenges that see the teams braving the freezing cold & icy waters.

Camping Culture

The rugged coastline of the Eastern Cape Wild Coast is the backdrop of a forage and Braai (BBQ) challenge lasting two days. After two long days on the wild coast, the elimination challenge has two teams cooking an enormous 80's themed seafood buffet.

The Village People

With only six teams remaining, they travel to the Amatola Mountains for a Round Robin challenge where the teams must make three dishes in a pizza oven. Temperature & timing prove to be key, sending the bottom three teams into the elimination challenge.

Durban

The teams have traveled to Forever Resorts in Plettenberg Bay to prepare the ultimate Yellowtail Braai (BBQ). Unimpressed, the judges send three into elimination as the remaining teams move on to the final four.

The Good and the Ugly

The remaining four teams travel to the adventure capital of South Africa: Tsitsikamma in the Southern Cape. They must complete four adventures to gain an advantage in the Fast Forward Challenge: securing their spot in the finale.

Golden Gate

One challenge stands between the remaining teams & the finale. With the winners of the Fast Forward Challenge taking one spot, only two spots remain in the finale. The teams compete in the most intense challenge yet in Villiersdorp on the Western Cape.

The Heat is On

The final three teams arrive at the Strandloper in Langebaan on the West Coast of South Africa to face off in a heated endurance challenge to win the cash, the brand new Renault Koleos 4x4 and the title of The Ultimate Braai Master!

The Guts and the Glory

The new teams converge at the Monkey Valley Resort in Noordhoek, Cape Town for the start of an epic 70-day culinary road trip where teams will face new challenges in pursuit of the title, the cash, the new 4x4 Renault Duster and other awesome prizes.

Off To The Races

All fifteen teams travel to Witsand on the East Coast to compete in a high-pressure fish Braai (BBQ) challenge. After an unexpected river adventure, they are split into five teams & the resulting elimination challenge sends the first team home.

River Adventure

The Cape Columbine Nature Reserve is the host of a traditional West Coast themed triple-challenge for the remaining fourteen teams. The elimination challenge ends in a double-elimination & two teams are sent home.

Cape Columbine

The teams travel to the rocky Cederberg Mountains. The game gets tough as teams are divided into four groups to produce potjie dishes in a gruelling five-hour challenge. Several teams struggle, and the elimination challenge sends two more teams packing.

Only ten teams remain as they travel back to the Diamond Diver Cottages on the West Coast to Braai (BBQ) five different chicken dishes in two hours. The challenge culminates in a nail biting elimination challenge for three teams.

The remaining teams cross the border to Namibia to the banks of the Orange River. After a night of rest under the stars, the contestants face an intense six-hour challenge that tests concentration. The challenge ends in a surprise elimination.

Along The Orange River

Diaz Point marks the seventh leg of their journey as the teams participate in a welcomed Rewards Challenge. They must prepare a variety of snoek dishes for over 200 local school children in the town of Lüdertiz, Namibia.

Deep in the desert, the teams travel to Sossusvlei where the group challenges have come to an end. Teams go head-to-head to avoid being sent to the elimination challenge. In the venison challenge, the top teams get to Fast Forward to the tenth challenge.

Venison Challenge

Tensions are rising between the remaining seven teams as they travel to the Fish River Canyon to compete in a challenge that's all about quintessential roadhouse food. Many teams don't make the perfect burger & the two bottom teams face elimination.

After a freezing trip down the Orange River, the teams return to South Africa for a Braai (BBQ) pizza challenge. Some teams tragically burn their results so are sent into an elimination challenge and one teams journey for the title comes to an end.

Burning Man

The top five teams compete in the most challenging competition yet in the desolate Karoo where water is scarce. After an exhausting challenge, there is no elimination round and one team is immediately sent home from the competition.

Into The Karoo

Only four teams remain as they travel to the Buffelsdrift Game Lodge in the Little Karoo. The ultimate adventure race is in store for the teams to complete five challenges before they're able to start their fires to create braaied (BBQ) Ostrich.

Game For Game

The final three teams compete in the thrilling culmination for the top prize of the R500 000 ($40,000), the Renault Duster SUV, a spice trip to India and the title of the Ultimate Braai Master.

Eye On The Prize - Finale

This season is sure to be the most challenging yet as Justin & the judges have new twists & surprises in store for the contestants. The fifteen new teams start their journey with the first challenge in the desolate Karoo.

Start Your Engines

After one team remains without a crew, they select the team that they face in the Elimination. Then, the contestants work together in the first Crew Challenge where they must Braai (BBQ) a royal menu with limited ingredients.

Crew Challenge

The teams travel to Hole in the Wall on the Wild Coast. They spend the night in a traditional Xosha village. After the Elimination challenge amongst the members of the bottom Crew the remaining teams must then face off in a difficult seafood challenge.

The bottom teams from the seafood challenge compete to avoid elimination. The next day, the remaining Crew captains compete against each other in a Crew Challenge in the Transkei. The losing captain sends their entire crew into Elimination!

Seafood Challenge

Ten teams remain as they travel to Rocky Bay in Kwa-Zulu Natal where the Yellow Crew compete against each other for a night at Durban's famed Oyster Box. The next day, two crews face each other on a deep-sea fishing adventure.

The teams travel inland to the rolling hills of the Drakensberg Mountains. The Elimination Challenge has two teams make boerie rolls & burgers for some young VIPs, followed by the remaining teams competing in a five-hour hearty winter menu challenge.

The Winter Menu

The Amazing Race meets Hell's Kitchen in Africa's toughest barbecue cooking competition show pitting 15 teams against ruthless judges and each other as they embark on an epic culinary road trip to claim the esteemed title; The Ultimate Braai Master.

Game Time

Tensions are high as the remaining eight teams travel to the Blyde River Canyon. A favorite team ends up in the elimination challenge, but the teams move on to a four-course Crew Challenge where it becomes important for the captains to lead & delegate.

The remaining teams must Braai (BBQ) a traditional Venda menu in the Tshipise Forever Resort near Musina in prime Boabab country. An undefeated favorite heads to the Elimination Challenge, as the teams' realize everyone is preparing to win the title.

Defeated Undefeated

As they travel to a cooler climate, the remaining teams prepare to serve a five-star menu of breakfast, lunch or dinner to a group of very special guests & compete in the first Fast Forward challenge of the season.

Forward March

The team that won the Fast Forward challenge enjoy their luxury accommodations while the other contestants prepare lamb on a spit for the entire shows crew. The teams struggle to control the heat & two head into the Elimination Challenge.

The remaining five teams head into the urban jungle of Johannesburg where they are tasked with creating the Shisa Kuama menu in the township home of Judge Petrus Madutlela for the Judge & his family.

The final teams compete for the title, R500 000 ($40,000), the Suzuki Sx4 All Grip and the chance to compete at the World Food Championships in Florida. The final two teams compete in an impressive final challenge.

Herbs And Spices Finale

The teams begin the season on a canal cruise at the Cape St Francis resort. The next day, teams must utilize the Game Store for the ingredients for their first challenge. The top three teams become Crew Captains & choose their crews.

The Final Course - Finale

13 teams arrive in Cape Town for the first leg of the competition. The teams visit Justin Bonello's NPO Neighbourhood Farms where they're allowed to pick their own herbs and veg before the first challenge, to make something indicative of themselves.

Cape Town: Soetwater Resort

The bottom two teams take part in the first elimination challenge - cooking shisinyama for VIP guests at Rands. The remaining teams take part in a relay challenge, which will put their teamwork and communication to the test.

Cape Town: Noordhoek Ski Boat Club

The team's' board their Nomad trucks and head off to Slanghoek Mountain Resort. After some down time, they enjoy a day zip-lining where a hectic turn of events takes place. Team captains then compete in a braai basics challenge.

Rawsonville: Slanghoek Mountain Resort

This week's elimination challenge takes place in the form of quick fire challenges, where teams have to produce foods using a variety of methods. The next day, the teams have to make pub style food for backpacker guests.

Sedgefield: Fairy Knowe Hotel

The elimination challenge takes place at Red Berry Farm where the teams will have to make kids party treats on the open fire. After the bottom team is eliminated, all teams enjoy a paddling activity at the river before another Takealot challenge.

The teams pack up and head towards Port Elizabeth. The next challenge sees crew captains going out on boats to fish for proteins to use in the seafood spread challenge. Crews are tasked with making Paella, Bread and a mussel pot for guests.

Bottom teams compete in a 3 Way Trout Elimination Challenge at Gubu Dam. The Main challenge sees the crew captains compete in a Pit Barrel Smoker challenge. Each team must smoke big cuts and provide an array of salads for local firefighters.

Stutterheim: The Manderson Hotel

For this week's main challenge teams compete as individuals. Each randomly select a protein in which they have to make a potjie, using a wheelbarrow as the braai. The 2 best performing teams go into a new challenge to battle for the golden tongs.

Wild Coast: Kob Inn

All teams travel to Wavecrest Hotel. The elimination teams compete in the steak on a barge challenge where they're tasked with cooking a steak, bechemal and mushroom sauce to the judges' liking.

The teams travel to Haga Haga. The top 6 are all fighting for the Golden Tongs. After answering some spot questions, teams are allowed to choose their protein from a range of game and venison. The bottom two teams face an elimination challenge.

The final 5 wake up to a delivery and find a supply of goods as they are told to get ready to depart for a hike towards the Miarestate Hotel. Teams face an epic three-part main challenge - the winners of which will receive a place in the Final.

For the mini challenge, teams must cure their own bacon overnight. For the semi-final, Teams have 4 hours to prepare a lamb Spit Braai and 3 salads. What they don't know is that they will be given mini braai challenges in between.

Sedgefield: Pine Lake Marina

The final 3 go against each other in a 4 hour challenge at Pine Lake Marina, utilising the Pit Barrel Smoker and the Ketla grill. Along with making something of their own invention, each judge has also requested a specific meal.
