He later meets a goat named Buddy, who has come to the practice in Thirsk to get the dreaded `snip'. It sounds simple, but Peter discovers that Buddy's anatomy is somewhat non-standard in this area, and he will need to operate to complete his task. At Boroughbridge, Julian looks after pampered pug Ffion, who has taken playtime a bit too far and badly broken his leg. Julian needs to screw a plate onto the bones to allow it to heal, but it's a tricky job.
