Rin and his classmates succeed at the task gave to them by their teachers, but the camp is attacked by Amaimon, who holds Shiemi hostage to force Rin to fight. Having no option but to go full force against Amaimon, Rin is forced to reveal his secret by exposing his true form in front of his friends. With the other Exwires fleeing astonished after learning the truth about him, Rin easily overpowers Amaimon, but loses control of his flames and goes on a rampage. The Demon-Slaying Blade is cracked in the process.

We are introduced to 16-year-old Mei Tachibana, who, after suffering a traumatic experience in making friends, decides to ditch making friends altogether during high school. She catches the attention of Yamato Kurosawa, the most popular boy among the girls in their high school, and wasted no time making friends with her, even giving her his number, despite the refusals, and even accidentally kicking him when she thought Yamato lifted her skirt a bit (it was just his pervy friend Kenji Nakanishi), earning the ire of Yamato's girl followers. She tried putting it at the back of her mind, until, one night, when a stalker followed her on the way home from her part-time job. Deciding to hide in a convenience store, she tried calling home, but no one answers. She calls Yamato, who rushes to the scene despite being at karaoke with friends at that time. Yamato wards the stalker away by pretending to be Mei's boyfriend...

Natsume is saved by Tanuma and the two escape from the banquet hall with the help of Natori, who was disguised as a youkai. Tanuma is drawn more into the world of the youkai and experiences it first-hand, which greatly worries Natsume. Blood marks are found all around the mansion and Natsume's fears come true when Tanuma is attacked by Omibashira, but is protected by a stone Natori gave him. After Natsume helps Natori seal Omibashira everyone is able to escape the previously sealed exits. Promising Tanuma that he'd tell him his complaints at school the next day, Natsume finally arrives back home.

Rin and his companions manage to flee from Satan who starts destroying the True Cross Academy with his flames. Knowing that Satan still stands beside the Gate because Rin has the power to destroy it, Shura comes up with a plan to distract him to give Rin an opening to do it, while the other students help evacuate the school. Their plan fails when Shiemi intervenes trying to dissuade Yukio with no success, but Rin manages to have his brother regain conscience and expel Satan from his body. However, the gate keeps getting stronger and it will not be long for Gehenna and Assiah to merge into one single realm.
