It's the night of Merc's 'Man of the Year' event. However, his moment of glory turns sour when Carol tells him about Matt's affair with Jamie. Beverly's relationship with Rob grows deeper, and Sean is forced to decide whether he's willing to forget the past and fight for his wife.

Sean meets Labia, a super-fan of Matt's and Morning suffers a major plastic surgery disaster. Meanwhile, Merc and Carol plan a weekend getaway to Mexico, while Jamie and Matt pack for a tryst in Napa.

Matt's life continues to fall apart when he falls foul of his fierce ex-wife. Beverly prepares to go on a second date with Morning's brother Rob, but things have become much more complicated now that Sean is aware that she is seeing someone.

Three's a crowd as Sean and Beverly are forced to consider a writing partnership with Tim, while Carol and Helen discover they have a bedfellow in common. Meanwhile, Matt receives a lucrative yet dubious invitation.

Sean and Beverly's marriage has been ripped apart by Beverly's fling with Matt. And Matt's friendship with Sean appears to be beyond salvage. But as their sitcom "Pucks!" premieres in the U.S., the three are forced to find a way to continue working together.

Matt and his ex-wife Diane get more than cozy and he contemplates re-marrying her. Meanwhile, Sean's old writing partner, Tim, tightens screws on Sean and Beverly putting their new show under question. And Carol finds herself in a completely new territory.

Carol and Helen are still trying to figure out their indefinable relationship, when all of a sudden Castor Sotto comes back into the picture. Meanwhile, Matt starts shooting his new game show with Merc Lapidus.

Matt spends a day at the hospital when his father undergoes heart surgery. Meanwhile, Carol tries to come up with a pet name for Helen.

Sean and Beverly end up on all-night road trip with Matt when they pick him up from a bar.

The future of 'Pucks!' hangs in the balance as the network hosts its annual party for the Television Press. Sean and Beverly's romantic future is looking equally tenuous. A visit to a sex therapist may only make things worse. Meanwhile, Merc Lapidus has stolen all of his blind ex-wife's artwork, and Matt is forced to come to her rescue.

'Pucks!' is finally pulled from the schedule. Although not officially cancelled, the writing is clearly on the wall for the doomed hockey comedy. Everyone reacts in different ways: Sean is in denial, Beverly is mentally packing her bags, while Matt finds solace in the arms of a 19 year old super-fan.

Matt tries to solve his financial troubles; networks compete for Sean and Beverly's new show; Carol must make amends to a woman she scorned.

Back on the hiking trail for the first time in months, Carol confesses to Beverly her newfound happiness with Merc. Appalled, Beverly nevertheless agrees to support her - until she discovers that Merc has recently become engaged. To Morning Randolph! Matt takes Sean and Beverly to his ranch for a working weekend to try and come up with a new series. Gunplay ensues. And a wild boar.

Carol reveals that she's pregnant and, even more significant, planning on keeping the baby - forcing Beverly to finally tell her the truth about Merc and Morning. Meanwhile, in the midst of Matt, Sean and Beverly struggling to come up with an idea for a new show, Matt's father drops dead - thrusting Matt (and a reluctant Sean and Beverly) into the enormous hassle of dealing with his remains.

Sean and Beverly are still reeling from the network's decision to cast Matt LeBlanc as the star of their show. But when they meet him at a swanky L.A. dinner party at Merc's house, Matt couldn't be more charming or flattering about their show. Unfortunately, over time the natural animosity between Matt and Beverly rises to the surface, and Beverly learns just how much you don't want the former Friend as an enemy.

The filming of 'Pucks!' draws to a close and everyone is focused on what they will do next. Bev gives Carol an ultimatum when she reads the script and wants to turn it into a show. NBC wants Matt to audition for the role in Andrew's pilot, but Matt is unwilling to do so. To make matters worse, Matt becomes a target of a rumor that might jeopardize his opportunity at landing the role.

Carol attempts to slow down the pace of her new relationship with Helen. Meanwhile, despite Beverly's objections, Sean gets Matt to read the script of their new show. Things take an unexpected turn when excited Matt wants to play one of the roles in it, and Sean and Beverly aren't exactly thrilled about it.

Beverly can't stand Matt, and the feeling is mutual. As a result Sean and Matt end up spending more time together, including an extended adventure in Las Vegas. Soon the two guys have bonded, leaving Beverly feeling excluded by her husband's new bromance.

Bev and Sean are still struggling with their relationship. Castor Sotto is getting more and more out of hand and wants to cancel the show. Carol convinces him to give it another chance and they get a new time slot. Andrew gives Matt a pilot script that turns out to be amazing and he wants to be a part of it.

Matt has to sell his beach house - or take a job as a game show host.

Matt's tryst with Danika goes viral - and no amount of damage control can contain it. Matt tries to take matters into his own hands by calling Elliot Salad, the head of the network, to plead his case but ends up getting more than he bargained for. Meanwhile, life goes on for the rest of the world. Sean and Beverly endure a disastrous casting session with Tim. And Carol gets stoned with her maid.
