And then Mrs. Fjeldsø experiences alarming news about her daughter-in-law's brother, the Austrian Jew Robert, who was rejected at the Danish border.

    Mrs. Fjeldsø's relative, the Austrian Jew Robert, escapes from a German concentration camp which gives rise to turmoil in the small hotel, where Madsen also is meeting with a German gentleman who is to help the wholesaler into the circle of the National Socialist leaders. Actor Weyse on the other hand, is more preoccupied with today's meeting with his psychologist, who has planned hypnosis to help him overcome his stage fright. Wholesaler Madsen still wants Count Ditmar's lucrative properties in Copenhagen and is fighting desperately to find the money before Ditmar has time to sell to another party. But then Ditmar's German cousin Mitzi arrives in along with Ditmar's mother, who has her own plans for the visit.
